Imam al-Bukhari Museum — Attraction in Bukhara City

Architecturally brilliant! I stumbled across here, and it wasn’t open so I didn’t go inside, but I admired the outside immensely: modern Islamic architecture that also reflects and respects the local architectural traditions. Also, as stunning as Bukhara’s mosques and madrasah’s are, there is a certain homogeneity into which this building breaths a fresh blast of modernity. Opposite an old madrasah with a museum of water management (apparently much more interesting than it sounds), this building is quite far out in the park, but definitely check it out when visiting the ancient Samanid...

Excellent museum in bukhara about the life and impact of imam Al Bukhari.

New facility and intriguing design of an open book (symbolising knowledge) and a crescent moon (symbol for Islam) for this museum.

Excellent exhibits within this museum which explained the upbringing, teachings, students, travels and widespread impacts of a great scholar of Islam.
