I had an enjoyable 4-night stay at Furama Villas Resort. I didn’t realize that Villas and hotel have two separate reception areas, so I went to the hotel side to check in and had to wait awhile. They could’ve just told us to go to the Villas reception, so we wasted more than 1/2 hour there while they took our passports to process. Then we had to wait for a cart to move to the villas reception and had to wait a little to check in there too. ||The villas reception is smaller and feels like a motel checkin, but once you are whisked away to your villa by a golf cart buggy, you are taken to another world. You would never believe that there’s a bustling street just a few blocks away as you hear the birds singing and pass by all the colorful tropical landscape. Be aware that the birds will start singing at sunrise, but they sound so beautiful that you just lie in bed and listen to their songs. ||Considering that Furama resort was built about 25 years ago, the landscape is mature and lush. This is what makes this resort a stand out. You won’t find this kind of beautiful tropical setting in newer beach resorts. The villas are massive. I stayed in the Pearl Villa which has 3 bedrooms and 4bathrooms. I love that we had the whole house to ourselves with so much privacy, but I didn’t like having to call a buggy to go to the main hotel resort because that’s where the spa, choices of restaurants, and better pool and beach service. You could walk it but you can’t do it often. Also, if you don’t like stairs, you should not stay in a villa but opt for a hotel room. Villas side does have a cafe, restaurant, gym, and a little game area with a pool table, foosball tables, chesss and checker game, and a specious lagoon pool in a tropical setting. ||The villa is well maintained and while the decor is somewhat outdated, it does not feel old and ugly. Each villa has spacious balcony, a private pool, deck and a little yard. |I have to say the best part was our butler, Bihn. He was a ray of sunshine. So friendly and always available. He and I communicated via KaokaoTalk (Korean messenger app) and we communicated via English. He gave me dinner recommendations, made dinner reservations for us, gave me recommendation to download Grab app, which is like Uber app. If I needed something done, he was on it. My mom had a toothache, so he called a pharmacy nearby to get topical analgesic and had it delivered to the resort then he brought it to our villa. My dad enjoyed his company so much that he wanted to invite him to dinner. He made me feel like we were in good hands and looked after.||Far as facilities:| The spa is just so so. Don't expect luxury. The locker room is spacious and do have steam and dry sauna. Message was okay. The massage bed isn’t luxurious but the room is spacious.|We had dinner at Indochine one night. The food taste and menu offerings were mediocre, but the live show made up for it. |The cafe at the resort has live piano music and the space is beautiful, but it is not air conditioned as it is open to the pools, so it will get warm on warm days.|I didn’t use the gym, but it is well appointed and very clean. Nobody was ever there. |I also partook in the Wellness Master classes - Heading sound singing bowl ceremony, meditation, and yoga. Master Giri was friendly and took the time to explain. You are not getting a lesson from a fitness instructor but from a real yogi, so that was cool. I recommend taking at least one class as you won’t find this kind of experience in most resorts. |The breakfast at the villas restaurant was pretty decent. The menu doesn’t change much but there’s plenty of offerings to satisfy Koreans and non-Koreans.|The AC worked well in the villa and you definitely needed it in March with the humidity kicking up.||As far as service, almost every staff greets you and everyone will greet you if you greet first. The housekeeping was timely, but sometimes they would leave a cleaning rag behind. That was kind of funny because I noticed when I checked in that there was a rag in one of the drawers and a few days later, somebody left a rag on the downstairs bathroom sink. ||A few things that’s disappointing:|The hair dryer is one of those cheap hotel dryers, and it had no air concentrator nozzle. |Disappointing and nonexistent beach service in the villa side of the beach, but I could understand that as there were no guests hanging out there. The hotel side beach service is much better. I ordered a coconut water in a coconut at a pool side bar and the bartender brought the drink to me at the beach. |The king bed is actually two double beds stuck together. I found the mattresses slanting toward the center. Regular mattress rotation should help with this problem. ||Considering it was March (Korean school starts in March), it was probably quieter than usual. The resort didn’t feel bustling at all. At one point, I had the whole pool to myself at the villas resort pool. I also had no problem finding loungers. ||Overall, I would recommend Furama Villas as well as the hotel. I love the mature, lush topical landscape and the service from our butler Binh was truly...
Read moreWe spent a wonderful few days at Furama Villas. Our villa was amazing - spacious, great pool and very clean. The villa complex is great with the breakfast restaurant and main pool and beach all easily accessible. There is a buggy service if you don’t want to walk. The broader resort has other pools too and plenty of beach front which was never crowded. ||We appreciated the help of our butler Lam and many other staff too. Service was wonderful. ||We found the restaurants a bit disappointing - the options for lunches and dinners were ok, but very expensive. Breakfast was fine - there is a fair spread available but seemed to be a few basics missing. We would have loved some avocado, for instance, or some more interesting tropical fruits which are abundant everywhere. A big issue for us was labelling on food - ie the ‘vegetable dumpling’ also had pork mince; but we consistently had to check what was in every dumpling, bun and banh mi as the labels didn’t say which was surprising. I don’t mean detailed ingredients, but even ‘beef’ or ‘pork’ would be a start. If a place claims to be gourmet and appeal to foodies expectations are high of course. The spa was ok too; again multiples of the price of good options in town. Certainly don’t mind paying a premium, but when the price is 5 or 6 times the rates in town it feels a bit much. ||Fortunately there are many places to eat that are great - some a few hundred meters away. Also Grab works very well for delivery at very affordable prices. ||All in all it’s a great beach resort and we’d recommend it - both a quiet resort vibe and yet very close to...
Read moreI recently stayed at Purama Villas Da Nang, expecting a 5-star experience, but was met with disappointment, primarily due to the behavior of the reception staffs, especially a female staff member named Linh.
From the moment I arrived, Linh's attitude was unprofessional and disrespectful. She greeted me with a smirking face and unfriendly attitude, which immediately set a negative tone for my stay. Throughout the check-in process, she was incredibly rude, displaying a dismissive attitude and a complete lack of interest in helping me.
When I asked for assistance and guidance, Linh's response was appallingly indifferent. She seemed more interested in her PC screen than providing any sort of help or direction. Her ignorance and lack of knowledge about the hotel's amenities and services were evident and frustrating.
Moreover, Linh's demeanor was condescending, making me feel unwelcome and unimportant. A 5-star hotel should have staff who are courteous, helpful, and professional, but Linh embodied none of these qualities.
The reception staff are the first point of contact for guests, and their behavior sets the tone for the entire stay. Unfortunately, Linh's rude and unprofessional conduct left a lasting negative impression, which overshadowed the rest of my experience at the hotel.
I sincerely hope that the management at Purama Villas Da Nang takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issues with their reception staff, particularly Linh. Improving their service and professionalism is crucial to meeting the expectations of guests who choose a 5-star...
