From a 5-star rating, I dropped it to 2 stars.
Even 3 days after the show, I can’t shake the fear and shock, along with a sense of disrespect, as I was turned into a joke by someone I paid to entertain me in a cheerful mood. You will definitely face trouble if you continue using the audience as a tool for jokes!
I was very excited to visit after my last trip to the villa 5 years ago. The place has completely changed, and it seems to target a younger audience more. However, for those seeking the nostalgic charm of DaLat, especially the old moss-covered parts of the villa, this place no longer fits the bill. It's now just modern architecture built on a historical foundation. The garden area is quite nice. However, when entering the exhibition area, the space feels stifling, which creates an uncomfortable atmosphere for visitors.
I was eagerly looking forward to the performance, but everything went downhill. It was a luxurious show, yet the use of terrifying, horror tactics to scare the audience was completely inappropriate. I wonder if this was the ekip's script or just the madness of the actress Minh Chau playing Mai Nuong? Consider this: if someone in the audience had a heart condition, think about how you are making money and who you're relying on. Moreover, standing in a place rich with spiritual stories, as both an artist and a Vietnamese person, you should be mindful of...
Read moreStepping into Madam de Dalat is like stepping into a time capsule. This beautifully preserved residence offers a captivating glimpse into the life of one of Vietnam's most powerful and controversial figures, Madam Tran Le Xuan. The exhibits are thoughtfully curated, weaving a compelling narrative through art and historical artifacts. I especially appreciate the architecture of the villa and many art statue in the garden.
Beyond the history, the atmosphere is truly special. The grounds are stunning, and the staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful. It's clear that a lot of care has gone into creating a unique and immersive experience for visitors.
My only suggestion would be to expand the selection of books and materials available in the gift shop. I was eager to delve deeper into Madam Tran Le Xuan's story but found the options somewhat limited. And also the show too, they are hard to get info of the ticket and only limit of weekend.
Overall, Madam de Dalat is a must-visit for anyone interested in Vietnamese history and culture. It's a thought-provoking and memorable experience that sheds light on a complex and...
Read moreWe visited this villa to explore the residential architecture of Vietnam’s aristocracy during the French colonial period and beyond. The house itself is beautifully designed, with an elegant style that blends harmoniously with its surroundings. I was especially drawn to the bamboo leaf patterns on the iron doors—a subtle yet distinctly Vietnamese detail.
Today, the villa has been converted into a tourist attraction. However, the garden feels overly manicured, with an unnatural mix of colors, unfamiliar materials, and excessive partitions that disrupt the original layout. I wish the villa had been preserved in its original state—it would have remained a true gem in the history of Vietnamese residential...
