Gone are the days when this Hotel was a little gem in the snow. I booked a slopeside room with Balcony last June for the week of 8th January 2017. On arrival at 2pm we were given our room... 10 minutes later we were back at the desk asking for an upgrade as the room is tiny and in terrible state with dirty grout, shattered wooden door trims and tatty wallpaper. Also the balcony is miniscule. The Manager, who didn't bother to introduce herself told us hotel is sold out for slope view rooms nothing she could do, come back tomorrow... Even though I suggested that all guests had not checked in yet and we would be willing to pay for a larger room... Nothing could be done.... Terrible customer service demonstrated... Anyway on to Dinner.... Sat at our table for 2 for 20 mins until finally we called a waitress to order a bottle of water... The food was frankly awful and cold to boot...A full U turn from our visit last season... Called to the desk again this afternoon and the nameless Manageress still couldn't help us with our request.... Bottom line after 5 ski holidays in The Piolets Hotel we will never return and speaking to other skiiers on the mountain it appears a significant number of people wouldn't either. Bitterly disappointed by one of my previous favourite places. Management take note.... Your hotel is on a slippery slope...

The hotel is ideally located right at the foot of the slopes, with direct access to equipment rentals—extremely convenient.
The breakfast buffet was superb, with a wide variety of options, and the omelets were absolutely delicious. The evening buffet was also excellent, offering great quality and variety. Regarding the pool and jacuzzi, you need to book in advance, but the process is simple and hassle-free. Plus, there weren’t many people, making it a relaxing experience.
A big thank you to the receptionist for her professionalism and dedication. Following her advice, I paid for the municipal parking behind the hotel using the app, as the hotel parking was full. Unfortunately, I received a fine despite this. The receptionist, very understanding, took the initiative to contact the authorities herself and got the ticket canceled. This gesture reflects exceptional customer service and genuine care for their guests.
I will happily return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a worry-free stay in Soldeu. Thanks again to the...
Read moreWe stayed at thus 4 star rated hotel for 5 nights. The location in the village of Soldeu was ideal with stunning mountain scenery all around. But, the hotel was a definite letdown. The room was adequate if a little dated, with a mountain view balcony. This hotel is geared towards walking parties, so eating in the restaurant both at breakfast or dinner was a challenge, the noise from the various walking parties meant that we had to shout at the waitress to give our drinks order and she, in turn, had to shout back to us. The alternative was to wait until the walkers had left, but then you were waiting until 8.30pm to 9.00pm to eat in relative peace. The food provided (buffet style) was of a good standard and selection, though limited if you were a vegetarian. The staff were pleasant and helpful, but, and it is a big but, this is the first time in over 35 years of staying in hotels of all standards in both Britain and Europe where we had to ask for the room to be cleaned and the bed linen to be changed. I do not recommend this hotel until it has improved its...
