We had an excellent seven-night stay for our engagement-moon, booked through a leading skiing travel agency in the UK, and enjoyed what can only be described as a five-star experience from the moment we entered the hotel. A welcome drink – juice, water, or champagne – was a lovely touch, alongside a cosy lobby area perfect for guests to relax in. The location is excellent, with the convenience of an in-house ski hire shop, Viladomat Signature, though the equipment was slightly more worn and slightly pricier than nearby alternatives. Nonetheless, the convenience offset any minor shortcomings.

The hotel boasts excellent Wi-Fi throughout, including the ski room, and offers a convenient mini-van service to the main Soldeu gondola from 08:30 to 17:00. A big shout-out to the driver with long dark hair and Ray-Ban-looking sunglasses (sorry, we didn't get his name). He was always incredibly helpful, jumping out of the mini-van to run over and assist us with carrying our skis and poles, saving us the effort of walking up the stairs from the Gondola station.

The staff across the board, from the front desk to the spa, were friendly and helpful. Our room was immaculate, with a balcony facing the mountains, a Nespresso machine, and L'Occitane toiletries adding to the luxury. The spa was a particular highlight, especially the large jacuzzi, where I found immense relaxation. We also indulged in massages, which were not only reasonably priced but truly enjoyable, enhancing our overall experience at the hotel.

We enjoyed the hotel's vibrant atmosphere. However, we have some suggestions for the hotel management:

Consider waiving spa fees for guests staying longer, like us, for seven nights. While most staff speak basic English, enhancing their proficiency could improve communication with English-speaking guests. More clear labelling of buffet dishes would be appreciated, especially for dietary requirements such as vegetarian or vegan options. For instance, a pot of roasted vegetables unexpectedly contained ham without indication, and clearer labelling would help guests like me, a pescatarian, in making suitable food selections. Ensure the plates are thoroughly cleaned. We noticed a few plates near the dessert station had stains on them.

Despite these minor suggestions, our stay was delightful, and we're deeply grateful to all the hotel staff for making our visit extraordinarily special. We would definitely consider returning to this hotel for future skiing trips in Soldeu. A heartfelt thank you to everyone at the hotel for a memorable...

Stayed here 12/1/14 for 7 nights snowboarding/skiing. Lovely hotel and helpful staff, most people spoke good English. Good, free WiFi available, but limited to (nice) reception/bar/lobby area, none available in rooms. Apparently the spa was lovely too, although I didn't use it or the outdoor hot tub/pool. We had what seemed to be a couples' suite with twin basins and a hot tub bath, very nice. Clean. Very warm. Plenty of storage and space in rooms with TV that actually worked. Rooms cleaned daily, fast lifts. Decent sized balcony with 2 chairs, worked well for a snowboard service. I mostly ate cold food/salad/veggie but friends commented that most of the hot buffet wasn't that hot, I enjoyed the food though, especially the ice cream. No noise complaints, although our friends had a noisy group of French students on their floor one night only. Less than 5 minute walk to the gondola/lifts and even closer to shops and bars. Seems popular with British, Irish, Spanish, French and Russians.

Attached rental shop, Shusski, staff spoke good English and we rented equpiment for one day from their sister shop a few minutes' walk away. Equipment from sister shop was average at best although staff were helpful, despite lack of good English. Nice people but wouldn't recommend their equipment to anyone but a novice due to average quality and poor servicing. We had a complimentary service at the end of our holiday which I will be redoing due to poor wax job, had I have paid I would have asked for a refund.

Only downside was that we booked through Neilson and they delivered our boards/skis 51 hours after we landed which ruined 2/6 days on the snow - not the hotel's fault.

For somewhere to eat, sleep and shower on a snowboarding/skiing holiday this place is great if you can get a reasonable...

I recently experienced the most incredible skiing holiday, and I can't help but share the outstanding aspects that made it truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional.

First and foremost, the hotel staff were incredibly helpful. Especially Victoria and Andrea from reception.Whether it was providing information about the best slopes, helping with equipment rentals, their knowledge and friendliness truly enhanced our overall experience. It was evident that they were passionate about ensuring every guest had a fantastic time on the slopes.

The hotel we stayed at was nothing short of amazing. The accommodations were not only comfortable but also had a cozy and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The stunning views of the snow-covered mountains from our window added an extra layer of magic to our stay.

I must commend the Crystal staff for their impeccable service throughout the trip. They were attentive, responsive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure our needs were met. From restaurant recommendations to arranging transportation, their dedication to providing the best service ever truly stood out.

Overall, my skiing holiday was a dream come true, thanks to the helpful ski resort staff, the amazing hotel, and the exceptional service provided by the Crystal team. I can't wait to return and create more wonderful memories on the slopes with the same level of hospitality and warmth. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a perfect blend of adventure and luxury in a...

This hotel is relatively new, with nice wooden interior but very contemporary design. It has equipment storage room, bar, restaurant and Spa (additional 35 euros). Valet parking will also cost you from 10 to 25 euros based on outside or inside parking. The place is about 10 minute walk from the slopes, but hotel provides free shuttle service. You could buy lift tickets at reception, skipping inconvenience of staying in line at the mountain resort. Also the breakfast provided by hotel was the best I ever had, it is really a top notch variety that you could expect from really posh, five star hotel. On the service side, despite they best effort and countless expectations on my side, the reception managed to screw up my accommodations, constantly trying to put me in the same room with my friend's wife. Despite informing reception on the late arrival of my friend who was staying in my room and acknowledgment of it, when he arrived he was denied registration until I had to run from the restaurant to confirm that he is in fact staying with me. Needless to say that I wasn't surprised when they screwed up on the parking of my car. Another thing, their spa has specifically allocated hours for family with kids, however they didn't really enforce it and paying 30 euros to have kids jumping over your head, wasn't really a good bargain. Overall, I had a pleasant stay, but their really had to step on their customers service, especially for the money they charge.

That is a unique 5 star hotel. Here you will have to fight for level of service you get so it to start moving in the detection of 5 star hotel. 1. Ski shuttle goes only to the closest ski lift. If you have a ski lesson at other station you will be proposed to settle such “a favour” with shuttle driver directly. 2. If you want to go to sauna or pool after skiing, get ready to pay 26 euro person otherwise you have a bath at your room. But even if you pay 26 euro you will visit the SPA area that it not even close to the level of 5 star hotel - small and dark sauna, cold hamam, small pool, and all that with a slippery floor 3. If you are lucky to stay here on Monday and Tuesday then you are unlucky - the only restaurant in this hotel is closed and you will be proposed to take your diner in the bar on the sofa or armchairs (do you still remember it is a 5 star hotel?) But … taking all these disadvantages into account the hotel is really good on all other sides: 1. Big rooms (for ski resort hotel) 2. Every room has a bath and a douche 3. Elegant design of interior and exterior 4. Shuttle goes every 3-5 min (I was never waiting for more then 2 min) 5. The service is specific but always 100% friendly
