Im not sure what to say about this place but I have to be open and honest. It is definitely unique, quirky, homely and fun. |The eccentric room was indeed eccentric: |a bed that only just fit in the room with no room for a bedside table or anything, you had to crawl onto it from a step at the end of the bed, an aircon/heater that had no controls to turn it on/off, a water toby coming out of the bedroom wall, tv cables hanging from the roof but no tv, base of a smoke alarm but no smoke alarm, the light switch outside of the room in the library, wifi that was there one minute but gone the next, some shelves that could be for storage but no light so you can’t see what you are storing, a shower that struggles to emit a stream of hot water, it is advertised as having a bath but it is really a large shower space with an up-stand that would never constitute a bath and the water would be frozen by the time it filled up, the hairdryer must be very small as it could not be found, similarly for the clothes rack which was nothing more than some wooden shelves, a blind over a window that looks straight onto a trellis in the courtyard (i.e. virtually no natural light), staff that were helpful when asked but by no means went out of their way to help and who contributed to the noise of other residents, and the advertised private entrance was the door to the room that was off the library room. |All that aside it was a comfortable bed but if you have mobility issues you wouldn’t make it. The place is clean, with some rooms at ground floor level (like the ‘eccentric’ room). |Remember there is a bar next door and it opens onto the same courtyard that some of the rooms look onto. It is also a hostel which goes hand in hand with groups of noisy people.|If you like eccentric, don’t mind quirks, can live with ‘basic’ and can cope with noise then it is a lovely place to stay in a really nice, non touristy residential suburb quite a distance from the city but with a good bus service (30-45 minutes ride) or a $10taxi ride. |There is a super pool and outdoor space (shared with the bar next door) and a ‘library’ lounge to relax in. There is also a cafe which I didn’t try as there were lovely cafes over the road. |For those that want to cook for themselves there is a shared kitchen (which is also a bar and cafe), just don’t try at breakfast time when they are getting breakfast ready for guests who have paid for the privilege. The name implies that there are ‘suites’. They appear to not exist, other than the hostel section the other options are rooms with a bathroom, that’s it. |I had the ‘privilege’ NOT of being a guest at the same time as a pack of females. They made out they were grown up but acted like little children at an unsupervised birthday party and spent most of the three days I was there either shrieking in the room opposite mine or in the bar next door. They could be heard all round the hotel but management made no moves to quieten them down. Never in all the places I have stayed have I encountered that sort of constant and un-neccesary noise from anyone and the fact that management tolerated it says a lot about them. |Had it not been for their constant and overwhelming noise I might have enjoyed my stay. |For the privilege of staying here I am paying a higher room rate than I paid for a fully fitted out, large, clean, quiet SUITE in a central Buenos Aires up market suburb where breakfast is included in my room rate. It may not have the character that Onas has but everything works and I get to sleep at night, have a decent shower and...
Read moreWe have been travelling in the Traslasierra region and was going to spend 2 nights in Cordoba city. My husband booked a room at this Hotel on line||||The pictures on the website looks good. ||But it did not tell you that the bedrooms ( 3 Rooms) are above the Restaurant /Bar.||We checked in early evening, had a shower and went out for dinner.||When we got back to our room, we could hear the chattering of the patrons, the cluttering of the plates and cutleries and the music from the Restaurant/Bar below our room.||The noise did not stop until past 2 am.||||In the morning as I pulled aside the bed cover to get out of bed, a piece of used condom fell out of the bed. I jumped out in horror at what I saw and I also realised that the sheets have not been changed from the previous guest. I was very nauseated.||||We got showered and dressed quickly to leave the room||||At Reception I informed the staff about this incident. He was very apologetic and said he will discuss with his Boss - who was standing right next to him. Perhaps The Boss could not speak English but if she was the Boss, she could have apologised on the situation directly to me with a single 'Sorry' .Instead she had hers arms crossed the whole time and did not say a word to me - no hospitality gesture here. They offered to us a complimentary night if we were going to stay on. When I said No, they then offered us half of the amount on the Night's rate.||||My first reaction was to take the money, which I did, but immediately gave it back to the Boss, as I thought it was not the right thing to do. My complaint was not about getting anything back but a genuine expression of total disappointment about the establishment.||||I believe it is not correct to operate a Hotel that does not offer the guests any kind of privacy / rest or quiet unless you explicitly specify in your website that you will be sleeping above a 'Party' ||Our Room 202, we could see the Restaurant from the bottom of our window.||||The incident of the used condom in our Bed significantly showed that the sheets/linen are in their second Round of use.||||The passe attitude of the Boss when I reported on this incident||||I am quite abhorred by the whole experience.||The beautiful pictures - all rather...
Read moreSuch a great place! It appears more like a boutique hotel than a basic travellers hostel. The interieur is modern and really fashionable, the room (we booked a private superior room) is very clean and offers a lot of space for personal stuff. Also the bathroom is huge and offers some small beauty products for the guests. |The breakfast is simple, but always fresh and very tasty! Also the pool outside is clean and perfect for a quick refresh during indian summer. ||The area around the hostel offers a lot of great places like restaurants (for foreigners I'd recommend Antares or Albufera) or small boutiques nearby. |There is a bus stop to the city centre around the corner, but the hostel is perfect for some days off if you spent most of the time hiking, day tripping and so on. |If you want to visit Cordoba itself I would recommend a place near the city centre. But you can visit the "hot spots" in just one day, so you better take some days off...
