we are a family with two kids (7 and 4).
Check in was a breeze but it went downhill quickly and fast from there.
no ID check for check ins. was shown to the room offered an upgrade with $20 top up as we are a family with child, I quickly agreed as I thought it was a good deal staff offered to inform my family as I was unloading luggage for my car staff accused us that we only declared 2 guests, but we have 2 children, this could be against regulation as there is a maximum guests limit per room, she needed to get her manager. I was totally confused, I thought that’s why I agreed to pay more for an upgrade. I walked to the room to ask my wife what happened.. she explained that she had tried to explain it could be an honest mistake that we only declared two adults, but the staff cut her off by shaking her head, saying “ No, it’s you” the manager, another lady, walked over, I wanted to discuss right away but she insisted that we all get into the room and closed the door. she sat down while we all stood, kids confused. She lectured us that it put the on the edge of the seat when there are many people squeezing into one room. I apologized and explained once more that it is an honest mistake she said “we are fully booked….. now I have to clean this room up….. you have two kids if you wanted to all squeeze into the bed, you all could stay the night” I don’t understand the fully booked part as there was zero car parked in the drive way. “there should be absolutely no one sleeping in the couch, are you 100% clear? And I still want my $20 for the additional towels”
The last part was the final straw, I immediately decided to forfeit the payment and moved hotel.
Once I’m checked in at the new place, decided to give it a chance that something positive may still come out of this by requesting waiver in exchange for cancellation as there is a chance that someone else may book the room,. I did this knowing fully that the Motel has the rights to refuse or provide only partial refunds. As expected, no refunds.
Lesson learnt, declare the number of guests clearly and double check it. I honestly thought I had declared the entire family and booked a room big enough...
Read moreWe stayed with friends over Xmas, were pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The house was large and catered for 8 people very comfortably. Home was spotless and everything was catered for inclusive of shampoo, body and hand wash as well as laundry and dishwashing powder. Linen was clean and crisp and enough towels for us all. Additional pillows and blanket were provided in the cupboard. Service is impeccable, lady from cleaning crew arrived a few days after we settled and exchanged our towels for clean ones even though property had a washing machine and dryer for our use. I would like to say special thanks to Linda who looked after our booking for attending to an item I left behind. Upon advising it was left at the property the item was found and posted to me via tracking for no charge, that is what I call service and care for your clients before and after. Thanks again for letting us stay at the lovely property which I forgot to mention is also in great location. I know this review may sound a bit much but I really wanted to express our thanks for a stress...
Read moreWheelchair accessible room available! We spent 3 nights at botanic appartments on king street. Phoebe was extremely helpful with removing furniture and bed placement ahead of time in our room to accommodate for 2 power wheelchair users to move and access amenities with ease. The staff were all so helpful prior to booking when asking them about room configuration and access, they sent photos through to us and were very descriptive when asked about mobility aids within the room & access on apartment grounds. The rooms were very clean, kitchen amenities were easy to use and well stocked with various cooking equipment. Location was great just 5 min walk to supermarket , 15-20 minute walk to Liebig street (main hub of Warrnambool) with well maintained footpaths and access to multiple pedestrian crossings to safely cross roads...
