If you are looking for the cheapest place to stay in Warrnambool this is it. $65 a couple buys a room with comfortable bed . We were given 3 in house vouchers for drinks and food, possibly saving approximately $20. Our room was the family with bunk style sleeping for 5. There was a small bar fridge, hand basin and a wire wardrobe contraption that at least kept our bags up off the unvacuumed floor. Bathroom facilities down the hall. The womens bathroom with a keypad lock. The bathroom has been recently upgraded but the supply of hand soap would be appreciated. I would have preferred the bed had a mattress protector but the sheets were clean and crisp. The room hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned - there were pieces of paper on the floor. We had dinner downstairs in the Bistro. Very acceptable pub meal with friendly staff. We were a bit concerned as other reviews had commented on the noise coming from downstairs. The bistro was very busy with 3 large groups celebrating. The live music hadn’t started when we retired back upstairs. Our windows was above what we assumed was the kitchen with large fans? Shutting the window dampened the mechanical whine. Considering the number of patrons downstairs we found the noise not disturbing. The noise from the fans stopped altogether and we had a good nights sleep. Using a voucher we purchased 1/2 cups of coffee from the bar. Overall - would we...

Stayed here for one night, and that was enough. The room was booked and paid in advance online. There was still the need for an additional $50 key deposit, which was explained on booking. The room we were given first was unmade from the previous people staying in it. Unmade sheets, hairs visable, used towels, ripped carpet & underlay visable. No mirror, poor lighting. No heating except for the extra blankets we requested on booking (mid winter). After mentioning this to the staff, we are shown to another room, across the hall. This time the bed was newly made, New towels and the room was in better condition. Good lighting, a mirror, and non ripped blankets. Still no heating or control for the split system in the room. The showers weren't in the best of shape, but I've had worse. Drains not draining properly so water was all over the floor with very slippery tiles (not non-slip flooring in a newly renovated bathroom), vents needing cleaning, broken hooks and locks. .. Great hot water though. Not somewhere is stay again, I've had caravan units cheaper and a...

Let me tell you, The Cally in Warrnambool surprised me. It wasn't what I expected from a pub hotel, but in a good way! Sure, the rooms are pretty basic – think comfy beds, clean linen, but shared bathrooms. But the vibe? Totally unexpected. The place is buzzing. There's a real country hospitality feel, and everyone seems to know each other. Maybe it's because it's right in the center of town, but it felt like a real community hub. I grabbed a beer at the bar and ended up chatting with a local couple about the upcoming whale watching season. They were so friendly and gave me tons of tips on things to see and do. Honestly, if you're after a fancy, frills kind of place, The Cally probably isn't for you. But if you want a clean, comfortable stay in a place with a warm atmosphere and a chance to meet some interesting people, then this is a great pick. Plus, it's super affordable, which is always a bonus when you're traveling!

Great pub and even better food! Had dinner here recently and clearly must have arrived just before the rush as most tables were reserved - luckily there we found a spare one. We ordered from the special board the New Orleans Po Boy which was Cajun Battered Shrimp in a house made roll with lettuce, tomato and remoulade dressing plus the Fish of the Day which was Grilled Humpty Do Barramundi with scalloped potatoes and Moroccan Salad. Both dishes were really tasty (even down to the house made bread roll!) and were the perfect serving size. The staff here were really nice too - both the bar staff and wait staff - everyone! Which always creates a great vibe. Will definitely swing by here again if we are ever back in Warrnambool!

Went for a 30th in the beer garden, can't believe the minimum booking number for that room is 50 people, we're were packed in that's for sure. People were eating their dinner off their laps sitting on a bench seat. The meals were ok, steak sandwich 50/50. Mixed grill not big enough for a grown up and a 6 year old that had already eaten their meal, she ate half my steak and the bacon. Very busy and happening place otherwise. People are friendly and the staff were great.
