Last weekend I stopped by KFC Warrnambool City for lunch and decided to order a large Zinger Box. Hamish, the staff member at the counter, took my order with a friendly smile and quick service, which made the experience even better. The box came neatly packed and steaming hot, giving off that familiar, mouth-watering KFC aroma. The highlight, of course, was the Zinger burger — a crispy, golden fillet of chicken coated in KFC’s signature spicy seasoning, tucked between a soft sesame seed bun. The chicken had the perfect crunch on the outside and was tender and juicy inside. The burger was layered with fresh lettuce and a generous drizzle of creamy mayonnaise that balanced out the spiciness of the fillet perfectly. Alongside the burger sat the wicked wings, which lived up to their name. They were coated in a fiery blend of herbs and spices that left a satisfying heat on my tongue after each bite. The skin was crunchy and packed with flavour, while the meat inside was succulent and tender. The chips were thick-cut, golden, and seasoned with just the right amount of salt — crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. They were ideal for dipping into the small tub of potato and gravy that came in the box, which was rich, smooth and comforting. To top it all off, the meal came with a buttery dinner roll and an icy-cold drink that perfectly balanced the spice of the Zinger and wings. Overall, the large Zinger Box was a delicious, filling meal that satisfied both my hunger and my craving for something spicy and hearty. Hamish’s friendly service and the freshness of the food made it a great experience at KFC...

What have I stooped too... penning a review of a KFC outlet. (Then again, I've reviewed a bogger in my time, so you do what you feel you can).

Anyone who knows anything about KFC does not need a review(er) to let them know what they can expect. KFC's foundation food offering is something they carefully hide within the last two letters of the acronym. Yep: Fried Chicken.

Some here will write that the chicken wasn't to their liking, or that the chips were too soggy, or not soggy enough, or, or, or. Fact is, the place is a fast food outlet that makes its dollars on volume. They do the fundamentals well enough, but if you're coming here for a gourmet experience, you'll likely leave feeling greasy, perhaps queasy and probably a little deflated (after you've given yourself enough time to try to digest the bucket of KFC you've single-handily tried to scoff).

There's not really much you can offer up about a KFC outlet: they have their 11 secret herbs and spices (though I think the interweb is slowly breaking down the barrier to finding out exactly what those 11 secret ingredients are); they seem (in Australia at least) to have an association with Pepsi and the drinks that circle around whoever Pepsi owns, or is owned by (so, sorry Aussie Coke lovers. You can't get a Coke with your feed); whatever it is they're doing to the food, the one thing that gets me every time is the smell of KFC. It is so nice it should either be made into a cologne, maybe a roll-on deodorant, or simply outlawed altogether. Just saying...

So: KFC. You go there. You order. You scoff. Job...

another horrible experience here tonight. We came in tonight pretty late , about 9.30. our order was almost $60. 2 of our items were made ginger when we ordered original for them. I also requested fresh cooked chips . we were waiting for well over 10 minutes despite them not being busy. The fresh cooked chips were made up within the first minute left sitting and going stone cold in the bag on the counter. I asked the young girl serving how long our chips were sitting in the bag, her reply was about 8 minutes so I asked them to be replaced. She was also more worried about cleaning than serving , she got some blue liquid on her hands while serving and wiped them on her dirty shirt then proceeded to serve food . She had a really bad attitude when we asked for replacement chips . This isn't the first time service has been this poor with cold food served to customers , But it is for sure the last time we will ever eat here . Management need to reprimand this kind of worker who clearly dosnt...
