Stayed here for a work trip. After paying $250 for 1 night I was extremely disappointed by arrogant rude staff and absolutely deplorable customer service. The bathroom shower base was a caravan base not a fixed flat shower base. Bathroom wash badin was all broken. Moreover, NO complimentary water. The staff here is a so arrogant, unprofessional, rude and disrespectful to customers despite working in a so called ‘INTERNATIONAL’ hotel.
There was fine hair in the bathroom and shower, had to clean the toilet myself. When I rung reception at night after checking in, to tell them of the same, no one picked up calls. There are so hopeless at picking up calls even during the business hours and get away by saying the manager was not here. Save your money go somewhere else.
I then gave the feedback to the manager in the morning regarding the fine hair on toilet seat and dirty toilet with poo inside. He called the cleaner to talk to me instead of him dealing with it. The cleaner said it could be your hair and your poo when I showed the photos taken at night when I checked in. I mean why would someone show photos of their own poo that is uncleaned to you. She started arguing that she cleaned it and that it was mine. I then told her that we were paying for the stay and not staying there for free and expect everything to be cleaned and tidy. Moreovers, the dishes in the room were uncleaned and had thick stains on them.
There was no water coming through the taps. I made a complaint in morning and they said it was turned off because they were getting the tree cutting job done. This led me to not have any shower before 11am checkout. Then they told me why would have shower 5 mins before checking out and I replied by saying that the water went out at 10:25 and I had 35 mins to have shower which is more than enough for a person to have a shower. The lady had no answer to this problem since she knew she was wrong. Absolutely hopeless and useless accomodation. The staff is not ready to accept their mistakes and would try to put them on you as a customer as if we are stupid and know nothing about the stays. I would have given 0 stars if there was any option available.
This place should CLOSE DOWN! I really hope someone...
Read moreFirst things first, I cannot recommend Horsham. Any town that festoons it's streets with THAT many parking meters cannot be considered tourist friendly and welcoming. Town centre commerce is to be encouraged not restricted. It's un-Australian. Grrr etc etc
Now... The Horsham International.
First, the bad. Mainly it's that the room felt cluttered. Standard hotel-style rectangle shaped space but with a bed, wardrobe, low sideboard, cupboard, desk, 2 seater sofa and a table and two chairs leaves no space in the far third of the room. Having to lean over furniture to draw curtains means there's too much furniture.
Additionally, it should be possible to lock the beds in position. You prop the pillows against the headboard, settle back to watch some tv and instead slide down as the bed rolls away from the wall-mounted headboard. No doubt makes it easier to remake the bed, but it doesn't make it easier to just sit up in bed.
But otherwise this is a thoroughly decent hotel. Clean, comfortable, good sized bathroom, mattress still with plenty of life (unlike the marshmallow with pillows some places have) and much more a city feel than a country feel, which is a plus for me.
The staff were all friendly and chatty and the excellent restaurant makes needing to visit town for a good meal wholly unnecessary. I had the braised pork, with melt-in-the-mouth meat, smooth mash and delicious pork broth.
This is one of those rare times when the town lets down...
Read moreRoom was very nice - clean, tidy and modern feel. Everything worked - always a bonus. Shower was too high up the wall for me to adjust. No hand towel but I did get two nice fluffy large towels for just me. Dined in the restaurant which was very nice - everything is share plating and the 'large' plates are huge. Suggest two small plates between two people - you can always order more and service is quick. Definitely try the tempura broccolini if they have it on the menu - menu is seasonal. Had sourdough toast for breakfast with fresh jam - best sourdough I have had in a while. It was delicious and cut thick - only just fitted in the toaster that is supplied in the room. Room has tea and coffee as well as the usual fridge/bar options. Ordered coffee with breakfast and it came in a takeaway cup - brilliant for getting on the road fast. It had lots of water in the fridge which is great if you haven't had the tap water in Horsham before - drinkable but funny taste. The doors and stairs to get to the second floor could be a problem for anyone with mobility issues so you would need to book the ground floor. Overall it was very good. The staff were very polite and friendly. There are also outdoor undercover ashtrays if you are a smoker. Definitely worth it, and great value if you can get a...
