From the minute you walk in you sense the atmosphere straight away in the place. I should have gone with my gut instinct and left immediately. We walk-in and wait in this void area to get an acknowledgement or even noticed - nothing! 1 woman that barged in front of us was supposed to be standing in a queue. One in front of her was been served. We waited and waited and yes we weren’t wearing our masks as NO-ONE seated inside/outside was wearing one, other than the staff and 1 woman in front of us that was standing. After waiting a while and not been acknowledged I asked one of the staff making coffee - can we grab a table? She says “you have to ask her” the lady behind the till. Next to her was a guy that I noticed was small talking to her about us. He pipes up with bad attitude and points to us saying “you need to put your mask on” We look at him and around the place which no one else was wearing one and say nothing. He pipes up again and says - “you need to wear your mask whilst waiting”. So we said - “are you for real, even though no one else is wearing one?” What difference does it make that because we are standing we have to wear one but no one else does. It does not make any sense. So we turned around and thought you can stick your meal mate we are out of here. He says “yeah bye, see ya”. How disgusting! What sort of attitude is that. Representative of the service you get in this cafe no doubt. It’s no wonder some of the staff had a robotic and lifeless presence about them whilst they were walking around the place. Stay away!!!! Hypocrisy to the max and whilst you are at it ......whoever you are (owner or staff) standing behind the machine blabbing at us.......go back to hospitality school as you can do with learning...
Read moreWe arrived at the cafe 11.15am after being told by family that this was the place to go for breakfast, we're from Melbourne so we hadn't been here before. We sat outside and no one came up to us and we had no menus so after 15 minutes we decided to go inside and get a seat. There was a long line that I thought was for seating and after a few minutes we realized they were ordering so we just went to get a seat and sat down. We decided on what we wanted to order and by this time it was 11.43 am, my partner was told sorry breakfast is finished!!! He asked if they could ask the chef if they could still do it and it was a straight NO!!! What great Customer Service you have here Cafe Jas!!! We ended up leaving so you lost a sale and we definitely WILL NOT be back. This feedback will be passed back to our family who live in Horsham and I hope they will not return as they were there the ones who recommended...
Read moreWe've been here a couple of times when making the journey between Adelaide and Melbourne. It's good because it has a large dining area and you can almost always get a table. There is nothing too exciting on the menu. The smashed Avo is on top of bread, not properly toasted, with thick layering of butter underneath. The coffee was OK, but not great. The service we received was unenthusiastic (perhaps a Christmas hangover, given our timing). Given the amount of patrons, the toilets are really crying out for a reno. There's only 2, but there's ample space to cover into at least 4 I would guess. This very ordinary Cafe has so much potential to be one of the best cafes on the Adelaide to Melbourne, and...
