Horsham RSL Club — Restaurant in Victoria

Such a wonderful, warm and welcoming little country club. From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted by very charming and professional staff members. The layout of the premises was explained to us, and clear directions given to help us find the bistro. Upon entering the bistro bar area we were once again greeted by another staff member who explained the menu and specials, where to order and seating arrangements. We both chose steak for our meals. My husband a Tbone, medium rare and a medium scotch fillet for myself. Vegetables and salad are self serve, there is an option for the cooks to serve them if you so wish. My husband's steak was rare and had been cooked on a flat plate. The steak therefore took on the flavours of the other food that had been cooked on the same plate. My steak was more medium rare and well done on the edges as it was so thin there. Again cooked on a hotplate, and served with an odd gravy with mushrooms added to make it a gluten free mushroom sauce. Vegetables were cauliflower in a cream sauce, boiled soggy brussel sprouts, and baked potatoes that were extremely sweet and not to our liking. We did not take the salad. Although the gluten free desserts were lean pickings the lovely staff when this was mentioned offered homemade pavlova, fruit, cream and gluten free ice cream, delicious and the highlight food wise. Review: I recently had the pleasure of dining at Horsham RSL, and I must say it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The garlic prawns and peri peri salad that I ordered left me absolutely impressed with their quality and taste.

Firstly, the garlic prawns were cooked to perfection. The prawns were succulent and juicy, bursting with flavor. The garlic sauce was absolutely delightful, complementing the prawns beautifully. The dish was well-balanced and left me craving for more.

The peri peri salad was a refreshing and delightful addition to the meal. The chicken was cooked to perfection with a tantalizing peri peri marinade, providing a spicy kick that was just right. The salad vegetables were fresh and crunchy, blending wonderfully with the flavors of the dish. The combination was simply mouthwatering.

Apart from the amazing food, what set Horsham RSL apart was the exceptional service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making sure that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, adding to the overall charm.

Staff seem arrogant, not very friendly and make up there own rules according to which staff member working. I have friends that also felt this way and now I have personally I am writing this from experience. The staff do not have consistency between each as to what rules apply. I did enter many times without photo ID previously but this time refused entry since I have no photo ID, I do not carry this unless necessary. Have never been refused entry to any establishment in Victoria or Australia for no photo ID even casino. There is no justification to convince the public they need to share their personal detail for just entering to have nice meal and gaming. Any different is a breach of personal privacy and we all know how easy it is for identity theft these days it is a major concern. There is no reason to be rude and if the management wants business to continue, recommend getting your staff in order and operating within the same standards as one another and BE POLITE TO CUSTOMERS!.It is just meant to be a friendly venue , not a secret military base with req. government clearance! My recommendation is to go somewhere else and do not hand your personal details to a venue that requires your business to stay operating unless it is for essential identification purposes. IE. Only for over 18 years of age is acceptable requirements to enter for gaming...
