We recently stayed at Hotel Elk in Falls Creek for a two-night family ski trip, and it proved to be the ideal base for our winter holiday. Traveling with our five-year-old child, we prioritized comfort, convenience, and family-friendly amenities—criteria that Hotel Elk met with excellence. We are lucky to be the first family visiting Elk this winter season.||From the moment we arrived, the hotel manager, Jake, served as our primary point of contact. He was exceptionally welcoming, attentive, and considerate. He treated all guests, including our young child, with the utmost respect. Understanding that children are naturally curious, he kindly allowed our son to sit beside him at the front of the oversnow vehicle, providing him with a wonderful view of the surrounding scenery.||Jake also provided a thorough orientation regarding the hotel’s facilities and the transportation process. His generosity extended further when he offered us a complimentary late check-out on our day of departure. This gesture was tremendously helpful, as we had ski lessons scheduled that morning. The late check-out allowed us to maintain our normal routine, enjoy breakfast, attend lessons, and fully utilize our day on the slopes without the added stress of an early departure. It also allowed us time to rest and prepare for the long 5.5-hour drive home. Such flexibility is not commonly extended by most accommodations, and we deeply appreciated it. Jake’s exceptional hospitality and outstanding customer service truly enhanced our stay—even our five-year-old continues to speak fondly of him.||The location of Hotel Elk is second to none. With genuine ski-in/ski-out access, we were able to access the slopes directly from the hotel, greatly simplifying logistics with a young child. It is also within walking (or skiing) distance of ski lifts, equipment rental shops, and several dining options, which proved highly convenient.||The beddings are clean, the pillows are fluffy and comfortable.||Our apartment was warm, modern, and immaculately clean, providing ample space for our family to relax after a full day of skiing.||We dined at the in-house restaurant, Sorella, on the evening of our arrival and found it to be both cozy and inviting. The staff were attentive and accommodating, particularly towards children. The menu offered a well-curated selection suitable for both adults and younger guests.||Additional facilities such as the drying room and ski storage were particularly useful for keeping our gear well-maintained. The area also included laundry amenities (a washing machine and dryer), which were user-friendly and invaluable for washing damp clothing and accessories.||The hotel’s three mineral spas were a delightful feature—clean, powerful, and well-maintained. We are especially grateful to the staff who took the time to clear away accumulated snow and ice, ensuring the spas were ready for use on our first night. The water temperature was ideal, offering much-needed relaxation after a long journey.||If any improvements could be suggested, we noted that the dryer in the drying room required cleaning, as the lint filter had accumulated a significant amount of residue. We addressed this ourselves before use. Additionally, the bathroom could benefit from more storage space for toiletries—perhaps an added side trolley would be useful.||In conclusion, Hotel Elk was an outstanding choice for our family ski holiday. It delivered a perfect blend of comfort, practicality, and thoughtful service. We would not hesitate to return and highly recommend it to other families seeking a premium snow...
Read moreWe recently stayed at Elk at Falls Creek as a family of four and honestly, it was one of the best ski trips we’ve had. I actually sat on this review for a while because I kind of wanted to gate keep this place… but they deserve the shoutout.||The location is unbeatable! Elk is conveniently ski-in/ski-out, super close to the Cloud 9 lift (the main lift at Falls Creek and the meeting point for all ski schools and lessons). It’s also a stone’s throw from ski hire, the most popular restaurants, and the on-slope grocery store. When booking, I had considered other accommodation higher up the mountain and I’m so glad I didn’t go that route.||We stayed in Apartment 4, one of the smaller two-bed configurations, it was incredibly well designed, well-equipped, and spotless. Our apartment had a fully equipped kitchen and drying cupboard, which was an absolute lifesaver for soggy ski gear. There’s also a communal drying room downstairs which is fitted out thoughtfully with plenty of storage for boots, boards and skis, a washing machine and plenty of benches to gear up before you walk directly outside onto the snow.||The Elk over snow transfers were a dream at the end of our commute from Melbourne airport. No waiting for Falls Creek paid service or dragging bags through snow or up stairs. Jake, who looked after our transfers and us during our stay was amazing. Friendly, on it, and always happy to help (even helped me to carry skis in each day when the kids had tapped out).||We ate at Sorella most days and managed to extensively test the menu. A must visit, conveniently located inside Elk, the food, wine list and coffee was amazing, the staff beyond friendly and attentive, and the best part? The kids could head back to the room while we finished our wine in peace. ||We were in the apartment directly under Apartment 3, Elks cocktail bar/lounge. We were a little nervous about noise but had no issues at all, No noise transfer. A few reviews raised issue with the noise from the pub down the hill. Whilst we could hear some background buzz it was nothing that interfered with us sleeping when we sank into the comfy beds after a busy day soaking up everything Falls Creek had to offer. ||Add in the magnesium hot tubs to soak tired legs, thoughtful touches , friendly service and the best snow access you could ask for it’s no wonder we are already planning next year’s trip.||Highly recommend for families, couples, or anyone who wants a comfy, convenient, and well-run base right...
Read moreWhole experience from start to finish was amazing. Leanne really helped us last year when we had to reschedule. I was super grateful that they managed the pandemic situation really well. They also emailed me with updates regularly and even gave a detailed list of what we need to organise at the slopes and what they offer, ext. The service we got from Jake was incredible, especially since he was by himself (Two staff away due to covid) This guy was flat chat the whole time we were there, but never ever skipped a beat, he touched base during our 4 days. His organisation was just incredible. We were really impressed. He also did all of this with incredible customer service, he was really genuine and nice. I very highly recommend staying here if you plan a trip to Falls Creek. The hotel room was super comfy, they had chrome cast, heated wardrobe for clothes and it was warm. They have the spa, a bar lounge and Bob Sugar Restaurant, everything you need in one spot. And only a short walk from the chair lift. Cannot thank everyone enough for making out stay super comfortable and enjoyable. Cant wait to come back.
I didn't have many photos from the hotel, but photos on their website are what to expect. here is a beautiful bird that was outside our window and a gorgeous photo they had in the...
