My partner and I had to attend seperate work training in Launceston and we found this place to stay for two nights||||Upon arrival the host was extremely rude and combative and requested we pay $25 extra a night for having the dogs with us which we agreed to do. I must add the property absolutely stank of dog which was really offensive.||||Upon bringing the dogs into the house her big dog attacked both of ours and we stayed in the room for the night wondering how we would leave with the dogs etc.||||The next morning her dog followed us up the road ignoring all requests by her to come back which made us feel very scared and uncomfortable. He then tried to attack our dogs again and that resulted in the owner asking us to leave - which respectfully we did.||||We were also asked to cancel the reservation, and we called the booking company 40 mins later to do so. They told me they contacted her to approve the cancellation but 'conveniently' she didn't receive the request - resulting in us paying for the second night even though she asked us to leave.||||We also received an sms from the owner asking us to agree on not leaving a negative review if she was to issue a refund. This is terrible business etiquette and really not fair on other travellers. See the attached photo||||The owner also found it necessary to inform us that she is a single person paying a mortgage and trying to run a business. This is extremely inappropriate as customers we do not need to know this information.||||She doesn't lock her back door either so safety is an issue here if you have belongings you need to keep safe.||||Trying to resolve the issue with this person has been a truly frustrating experience, and for your protection I would only go here if you don't have dogs and are willing to loose money if anything goes wrong, oh and be treated like school children.||||For those of you staying, ensure you turn up before the last check in time which is 8pm. I suggest a few hours before because we arrived at 1930 and was told off for doing this.||||I urge you to read the reviews before booking this accomodation. The good ones are good, but you need to know if anything goes wrong you will be scammed and not supported and beware if you take dogs or even small children as the big dog may...

Read moreI had made a reservation based on the excellent reviews the hotel had received but unfortunately I received a level of service whereby I felt I had to leave a review to make other potential guests aware. I hold my hands up to errors I made but the hotel manager/owners behaviour was shocking and unacceptable. I made my booking through Booking.com via a mobile app. whilst overseas, it was all last minute for a work course and I didn’t have time to look at photos. I followed the Booking.com procedure and also added a check in time of 2100hrs. I received confirmation of my booking and thought that was that. Leading up to the booking I checked via the app and ‘manage my booking’ for location and check-in details and didn’t find anything untoward. Unbeknown to me, the owner had responded to the automated message of my check-in time stating they couldn’t accommodate the booking/check-in, this was days prior to the reservation date. On the day I returned from the UK and subsequently the day I was to arrive at the hotel, I turned on my AUS mobile and shortly after received a call from the owner explaining check-in was only until 2000hrs and that the booking would have to be cancelled. This was all very last minute and extremely frustrating but I followed the owners instructions and proceeded to cancel through Booking.com. When it stated I would be charged a $95 cancellation fee I automatically requested the waiver option expecting the owner to accept as it was the Hotel that was forcing the cancellation. I was astounded to find that not only did the owner not accept the waiver but when challenged they ignored all further messages stating there was ‘a photo’ that I should have seen and to take it up with Booking.com. They had obviously made no effort to cancel the booking at their end and left it to me and to the last minute to guarantee the $95 charge. I am continuing to fight this through Booking.com to hold such unacceptable behaviour accountable. I am not blameless in this but this is truly a show of the owners character so be careful booking...
