This quaint Indian restaurant located off Launceston city centre was a pleasant surprise. The store front is simple and almost uninviting but the inside is charming, bright and modern. I was a bit worried about the quality of service we were going to receive because of the poorly dressed, uninterested waitress that greeted us on entry as she disappeared into the kitchen shouting "Sit at any table you want!" from behind the divider. She could definitely take up a waitressing course or watch a YouTube video to improve her skills.

But as soon as the main waitress behind the till, elegantly dressed in a beautiful laced black dress shirt took over, the evening turned into one of our more memorable dining experiences during our stay in Tasmania. She provided excellent table service and was quite sociable. She checked on our condition throughout the meal and did not hesitate to fulfill our needs.

The food was just as stellar. We ordered the standard butter chicken, papadums, roti and naan and was not disappointed. Meal was spiced to perfection while the curry sauce was thick and slightly buttery. Absolute heaven to the tongue. We cleaned up our plates proudly. Bread was also cooked extremely well, exhibiting a balanced texture of crunch and softness. It definitely complemented the curry in delectable matrimony.

Overall I believe this is a dining experience not to be missed and you will be guaranteed excellent Indian food by checking out...

We thought they dont have a bain marie and pricings are nice, so they should have a goid taste of Indian food, but no they were also one of them on this Lolnely island. It was written 10% doscount on T/A clearly on Menu but when asked why didnt we get it , the owner and chef probably said bring this menu next time then it will apply. I asked politely where it is written? He didnt have any answer! Saying anything without any logic. Completly Tricky businessman. Not letting anyone else to touch the register even while his curries were burning and he is busy on register however there was a slow and smiley girl avaloable, anyway this $4 discount wasnt a real issue but its tricky . Food was just blend, we got Chicken Kadai and chicken biryani with chilli and herb naan, this polite & inocent looking gentleman have no idea about the food. Dont expect service anywhere on this lonely island. Compelete and maximun suction of Turist money at most food outlets. The cheaper indian option was much...

A small beautiful homely Restuarant which also serves some rustic South Indian delicacy. On a weekday went without reservation and could luckily manage a cosy seating table. Not too hush-hush and not too noisy it embraced us like family.

Tried Alu Tikki chaat and Lasooni Murg tikka in Entre. While Alu Tikki was authentic and good, the Lasooni Tikka bowled us over, with its moist succulent tikka well roasted from outside and the un-mistakable aroma of burnt garlic. Never expected in Launceston! In the Mains we went for Plain and Masala Dosa accompanied by Mysore Chilli chicken. Have to say that Dosa was really really well done and crispy and the Mysore chicken was too good as an accompaniment.

What will always leave a happy note is the casual discussion that we had with the host and the owner/chef friends. Felt like family.

Never knew we were the last guests still enjoying our bite and the management never hurried up though we were past the closing time. True...

We lived close by to the restaurant during our recent trip to Launceston and it was a happy find for dinner, for consecutive nights, with whole day being enjoyable out in the sun. Ambience is on dot, good seating and great service. All our requests were well tended. We probably raked through most of the vegetarian options, ordered Dal Makhani, Mix veg Korma, Kadai Paneer with Roti, Saffron rice and Veg Biriyani. The spice levels were adjusted as requested on the curries, and the flavours really came through. The veggies in Kurma were under cooked and a bit raw which made the curry less enjoyable. While dining in, the portions were generous, but quite less when did take away the next day. The prices are almost reasonable, especially if you consider the place setting and atmosphere.
