Cambridge Cottages — Hotel in Melbourne

We stayed at the Kookaburra cottage and our friends stayed at the Currawong cottage for 2 nights. Both cottages are very warm, comfortable and have all the little extras that you expect and delighted to find such as DVDs, candles, board games and a welcome drink of port if you like. The Currawong cottage is on one level. The kookaburra cottage has the bedroom upstairs and the bathroom downstairs. This was fine for us but would be an issue for others as it is a steep staircase and if you are tall you might need to watch your head also. The bedroom has no where to hang anything, but there is a cupboard downstairs. Personal the bed was a bit hard for me also. I didn’t see the owner as a note was left at reception for our arrival and she wasn’t home when we dropped the key back, which is completely fine with me. Very private spot, close enough to walk between the two cottages to have a wine or two with our friends in the next cottage but also allowed us all to have some privacy as well. Wi-fi is terrible but we were ok...

I stayed at Kookaburra Cottage and everything was just perfect! The view is breathtaking!!! all the small details in the room it made all the difference. The breakfast they left for us was very generous. We had an amazing 3 days of stay. ||||The only down point and I was very disappointed by that made me very disappointed was that just a few minutes before the check out (we had about 15 min left), when we were still taking our belongings out of the house, a person came in and started cleaning the house, while we were still inside, taking out the our things. We felt very invaded, disrespected and it made us rethink if we would go back there or recommend this place to someone... My wife and I stayed for a couple of nights midweek to have a reprieve of the hustle and bustle of normal life with 3 kids. I loved how the cottage felt like it was secluded and private and we just enjoyed feeling like we were in the middle of a glorious bush with gorgeous flowering trees all around us. The room was fabulous with good quality furnishings, crockery, towels etc so we felt like we were really “treated”. It had everything you could need and my wife fell in love with the heated towel rack and gas log fire! The location is perfect, being only a 5 minute walk to the botanical gardens, and the town of Olinda is so cute. While the hosts were away, the couple who were looking after us were just gorgeous and couldn’t be more helpful. We highly recommend Cambridge...
