Came here on Monday just before 12pm. The place doesn't have much seating, just window bar seats, 4 on each side. My daughter and I decided to sit on the bench seat just outside the shop. I was disappointed that there were no prices for the drinks, there's a menu on the coffee beans and tasting paddle but no prices! Even the non coffee drinks had no price. The only price they had were for the pastries, quiche ($8), sausage role and pies. Can't remember how much everything is, all below $10. I ordered the Magic paddle whom the server recommended for someone who likes milk with their coffee. I loved the Dark Side the most, strong but a good robust taste. Jesus Walks had a metal taste to it which I didn't like while To The Moon had a berry taste which was OK. My daughter ordered a lemonade, a muffin, I had the quiche with my coffees, the bill came up to $32.85. I regretted not asking for the price before ordering because now I'm wondering if the paddle was $15 which makes it $5 per coffee which is pretty expensive considering they were small cups and were not filled to the top. I want to like this place because its a quaint little shop with friendly staff but I don't like businesses that are not honest and upfront with their customers.

Black coffee is okay, the usual kind of lighter profile found in most specialty cafe. High acidity and little body. Could use a tad longer extraction to draw out more sugar? Milk base coffee has some room for improvement. Recommend to have coffee in house. If you're getting a takeaway, there's just not enough love in it. Milk texture looked like it was frothed by a trainee barista or refrothed old milk (too hot, too frothy for a flatwhite and not smooth or shiny, which does affect the drinking experience) something i expected from a small town bakery coffee. It was not busy when we got our coffee. Great decor, has the right look but sadly not enough love. Having a sit down coffee might make it better. Do give it a try if you really miss the "Melbourne style" cafe when you're in the area.

Really good genuine specialty coffee, the first throughout the Dandenongs to genuinely make the shift from simply well executed coffee and a lovely hills café, to an entirely coffee quality focussed venue. The warm welcome is friendly and attentive, with the crew eager to please, and the space has a very relaxed vibe within the upbeat mood within. There are plenty of choices via multiple blends and roast profiles, filter coffee, and a vast range of espresso and filter beans available to buy at excellent value prices. There's something for everybody. Next day trip up here, this is THE place to have coffee.

I love this place and visit every week. I really enjoy the coffee, decor and surrounds and have had both takeaway and dined in. The pastries and cakes are always lovely too.

The only critique I have is that the music is often far too loud and distracting for a coffee shop. The kind of music I enjoy with my coffee is something you can have a conversation over. Instead frequently (usually when one particular staff member is working) it is heavy beats and distracting noise to the point of discomfort and wanting to leave. I had mentioned this to friends who also frequent the place and they vehemently agreed and had noticed the same, also mentioning the same staff member.

I of course want the baristas to have a nice time working and to enjoy themselves but as a customer it's super distracting and frustrating when you're just trying to have a conversation. When this staff member isn't working, I usually find the music is at a fine volume and I have no issues whatsoever.

Will continue to visit, I just thought it was worth...

As I couldn't reply to the following, I add here: The parcel was delivered to the old address not the depot and I couldn't even pick it up. I tried to resolve this by sending several emails and calls but no luck and no response from you. I have ordered coffee beans from Storehouse several times without any issues, but this time I experienced significant problems. There was a delayed delivery, the bean bag arrived damaged, and they resent the replacement to the wrong address. Ultimately, I couldn’t receive my package, and I received no response from them, which has wasted both my money and time. Should I report this to Consumer Affairs? This experience has been very stressful and disappointing, especially since they blamed me for the incorrect address. I never asked them to change the address for the reshipment; instead of apologizing for their mistake, they placed the blame on the customer. I will never order coffee...
