Upon entry you will see what seems like a 5 star hotel, the entrance is completely renovated with great air conditioning to the point sometimes you genuinely feel like you are in the Antarctic Unfortunately from the elevator and upwards that’s where all renovations seem to have stopped and you enter what seems like a completely different hotel. The first night staying here we were on level 5, after a 9 hour drive we were exhausted and ready to get some rest From the minute we entered we quickly felt extremely hot and that the room was stuffy so we put on the aircon, a couple hours had past and to our surprise the room temperature actually went up despite the aircon being on. it was late and we were tired so we left it The second night the room temperature was unbearable to the point you could literally feel a pool of sweat forming through your clothes so we called the front desk, one of the receptionists came in our room and immediately noticed how warm it was He reset the aircon system and told us that it probably wasn’t working because the vents need to be cleaned which means these vents were so clogged full of dust to the point they did not have airflow anymore He offered us a room change without asking and we agreed, we took all of our luggage down to the main lobby and were downgraded despite what we paid for our room to level 1 in a room half the size. But it gets better, when we entered this room that we had been moved to we opened it to occupied beds, suitcases, clothes, charging cords and another person in the bathroom, So again we moved back down into the lobby explaining that we couldn’t have this room as it was occupied by other people By this time we were heading into 1AM and with no apologies for the inconvenience we got given another room on level 1, after making it through the maze of 2 long hallways doors and steps we made it to the 3rd room which you’d hope would’ve been the last but it wasn’t The location of this room should not even be shared to the public population if anything I believe it should be a staff storeroom, The stench of the room was tempting enough to return back to the lobby but instead of doing this we opted to open up the windows As we went over to do that we realised the dial was broken and had to pry our way out on what was left of it to open it, Once we opened it to our surprise we were greeted with male underwear outside our window, a lizard head that had been there for so long it was completely decomposed and white, a rat, pipes dust and spiders which I will include a photo of for reference. By this point we were so fed up defeated and horrified we decided to sleep on it and figure it out in the morning. Morning came around and we were back in the lobby, We explained to the woman manager what had happened from the first night being here to the current and the reaction was nil. The only positive I can take from the encounter was another room move but this time they put us in an Accessible Room. The room was large in size and the best we had been in since arriving and the constant moves. It was located next to the gym so we thought we would check it out as on the site it looked great including a spa, spacious pool and sauna. I would just like to give everyone a heads up that despite the hotel claiming there’s a spa there is not one anywhere in the vicinity in fact the placement it is in the pictures has been replaced with benches. The pool is small enough to feel uncomfortable and invasive with anyone other than your group in it and the sauna feels like it needs a repair similar to the air ducts. They did give us free breakfast as compensation for the absolute hell of an experience but unbeknownst to us we were entering kitchen nightmares. I wouldn’t be surprised if this place ends up on an episode if I’m completely honest. I truly stand by the fact you would have to pay me to stay there in the future. I would have had a better time with more hospitality on the streets of Melbourne and spent most of the time outside my hotel to avoid the reality of having to stay there.

Booked 2 rooms for our family. Rooms were quite dated, small and stuffy. Despite placing "do not disturb" signs on both rooms doors, the rooms were accessed by housekeeping. When I didn't immediately answer a knock, a cleaner opened the door with a key while my child was still asleep. The other room had been entered and beds made. One of the rooms backed onto an alleyway, and the smoke from below set off the rooms fire alarm at 11.30 at night. Called reception and they had someone come to the room. His solution was to open the room door until the alarm switched off and tell me if it happened again he would send someone to fix. So If you happen to wind up in a room backing onto the alley, keep windows closed. Beds were comfy but that is probably the only thing I enjoyed about our stay here. 3rd day of stay and suddenly our room cards don't work and had to be replaced. Air con vents haven't been cleaned in a long time and covered in a thick coat of dust and cobwebs. Stay elsewhere

Disappointed. Hubby n I rarely go out as we live in the country. We choose this location due to convenience and a good rate of overnight parking rate of $45 as advertised on website. The address we were given for parking was incorrect. We had to call back and get the correct address, after driving around and around the city increasingly frustrated. Walked two blocks from parking to get to hotel. The Tv locked us out of NETFLIX during a movie. Our view from the room was into the adjacent building toilet . Spa gym and pool advertised, but only the pool was available and still more difficult to find. Hotel was clean and temp controlled. Room was well maintained. Comfortable bed and extra pillows available. What really hurt was the parking!!! We allowed the for $45 as per website, upon exiting , $91 !!!!!! Really took the shine off the experience Hubby says he’s not going to the city again.

!!I WOULD OF GIVEN NO STARS IF I COULD!!

Terrible service, rooms are VERY small and NOT luxury at all, the hotel is deceiving it looks fancy when you walk in, but the rooms are really old.

We travelled from Sydney and after the 12-hour drive all we wanted to do was relax, but from the minute we drove into the driveway the service was terrible.

It took us 3 times to get inContact with reception to be let into the car park, once we finally got a hold of reception and the staff member come down, he was extremely rude, he asked us to drive into a lift, We said the car won’t fit inside the lift as we were in a 4x4 Ute. Even though the website said the hotel has valet parking.

We asked if we could park in the disability parking space as we have a permit. He replied ‘they are reserved’ we then said that when we booked 3 weeks ago it stated that you couldn’t reserve parking spaces. The staff member must have called management as he then allowed u to park in the disability spot.

When we parked, we didn’t get offered any assistance with our luggage, even though when we booked it said we would have that service.

Once we finally got to the reception area, the reception staff were rude, we asked how housekeeping works and what time they come etc… we were then told that they don’t offer housekeeping… which once again the website said housekeeping is provided.

After getting our room keys we ended up putting our own luggage onto one of the trolleys (we had to find the trolley ourselves) and ended up wheeling it to our room ourselves, mind you the elevators are that small you can barely even fit the trolley into it.

When we finally found our room, it was tiny, the photos online looked nothing like the room we got, and for the amount it cost for this room it was absolutely disgraceful. The bathroom was tiny also, barely any room to move around in.

We ended up calling reception and asked for a refund and went somewhere else as 3x adults couldn’t stay in this room comfortably.

This hotel is the worst one I have EVER come across. We ended up staying in another hotel with was less than half the price and was much nicer and better service.

The amount it cost for this hotel is the same for the Sofitel at Sydney and the Sofitel is much more helpful and has the ABSOLUTE...

This hotel is getting 2 stars - 1 for the really comfy bed and 1 for the shower pressure. The rest of the stay was a disaster.

We had driven from S.A to Melbourne for a concert and specifically chose this hotel due to parking ability. Out of the 4 nights we stayed, we could park 1 night. When we arrived, we were told the car park was full but that there was alternative parking elsewhere. This was completely inconvenient as we had just driven 8 hours and had luggage that we would need to walk to the hotel. I called back a few minutes later to ask for something more convenient, only to be told by a different receptionist, there was indeed a car park for us. We parked the one night and for the next 3, were told the car park was full. If we had known this would be the case, we would not have stayed there! We ended up finding cheaper parking elsewhere. This was extremely frustrating.

The receptionists we encountered weren’t helpful at all. They rarely smiled and certainly didn’t apologise for any inconvenience re the parking.

The shower drain was covered in rust and we ended up wearing thongs in the shower. The taps, when turned on would make that high pitched noise. We had to move the taps to a perfect position to stop the screaming. At least the water pressure was good!

Netflix continued to buffer and would keep saying there were connection issues (internet).

The room was small and dark. No natural light coming in - we did slightly expect this given Melbourne is such a high rise city, however, it would’ve been nice to have SOME light.

We were on the second floor which had stairs. We had to drag our cases up and down the stairs - really not user friendly! No ramps.

All in all, I won’t be back. I would rather spend more and get...
