What a terrible experience. During our visit the lift was broken and we were not made aware of this prior to arrival. Other arrangements were made but this included walking around the back of the theatre into a side door. If I did not have my wheelchair with me I would not have been able to manage this long walk. Once we arrived at the door we were shoved into a big crowd as the doors to the stalls were not open yet. There was no ability to manoeuvre the chair within the crowd and it becane very overwhelming.
During the show there was also a medical emergency. The staff seemed very helpful in the emergency, however my chair was taken from the side of the stalls for the lady experiencing the emergency. No effort was made to ask me, and no attempt was made by the guy minding the mobility aids to stop the other staff members from taking the wheelchair. Someone in my party had to interfere and stop them from taking the wheelchair so that I would be able to safely leave the theatre.
I have contacted the theatre about this issue and no concern was displayed about my wheelchair being taken, and the only solution offered was tickets to an upcoming show. I made them aware that I travelled interstate to see this show and have no plans to be back in the immediate future but this is still the only solution that...
Read moreI recently went to the Regent Theatre in Melbourne to see Beetlejuice, and it was one of the best theatre experiences I’ve had. From the moment you step inside, the venue itself takes your breath away. The theatre is absolutely beautiful, with its ornate ceilings, chandeliers, and rich historic charm that instantly makes the evening feel special. The staff were friendly and helpful, and everything from entry to seating was smooth and well-organised.
The show itself was incredible. Beetlejuice was amazingly funny from start to finish — clever, cheeky, and full of energy. The cast were brilliant, with spot-on comedic timing, fantastic vocals, and so much charisma. You could feel the audience completely engaged, laughing and cheering throughout the night.
The staging and effects were also impressive. Scene changes were seamless, the sets were creative and bold, and the visual effects added real “wow” moments that brought the story to life in a fun and surprising way.
Overall, it was an unforgettable night out. If you’re in Melbourne and get the chance, I can’t recommend seeing Beetlejuice at the Regent Theatre enough. It’s a perfect mix of comedy, music, and...
Read moreWent here to see Moulin Rouge with my daughter and her friend. We had an amazing time. One tip, Please tell your large bald security guard to chill out in regards to ushering your customers out after the end of the performance. My daughter was trying to take a few photos as everyone was leaving and she was rudely told to stop and leave the theater immediately. There was still 200+ people below on the lower floor, and 100+ on the upper floor where we were, so it's not like we were the last people there and we weren't blocking anyone from leaving. It wasn't that we were asked to leave it was this rude way that he spoke to us. Basically like GTFO now. He needs to learn some manners. Without us customers he has no job. It's not hard to say can you please finish up with your photos and make your way to the exit. It just ruined the mood while being really excited to experience such a great performance. I worked in customer service myself for 15+ years. Your security staff need retraining. 10/10 for the performance and other staff. 0/10 fid your unprofessional...
