Read moreI’m actually amazed of any good reviews?! What a Waste of money!! We travelled 3 hours with a toddler & had reserved a cot! Got to the room and wanted to relax, naturally!!! but No cot! My partner was told we didn’t reserve it and to go out and buy one, we tried local shops and nothing. So after wasting 2hours of our time!! I went to the receptionist myself and was greeted with “were closing in 5mins” ( I’m thinking oh really? What do u want me to do with my baby for the night?) just ridiculous!!! id to prove I’d reserved the cot! And it obviously was an inconvenience for them to get it.. after wrestling to open the cot and make it up (was given a single duvet) there was all brown stains down the side of it which I’m sure is still on it..aside all that ridiculous carryon, the room was dirty!!! dirty Tupperware, womens long black hair everywhere (in the shower, bed etc) telephone didn’t work, bed was the most uncomfortable thing We’re ever had the displeasure of going near, was very loud in our room And we both had the worst sleep ever!! U can hear all the guests outside using the timber stairs and hear the people above u!! I actually cried and we taught about leaving after the first night but stayed the second as we had paid for it, did want to deal with reception anymore after first encounter so we stayed. Left at the crack of dawn couldn’t wait to get out of there— Waste of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some attention to detail in the cleaning and service would go a long way...
Stayed here for the night on our drive from Gold Coast to Canberra. The ladies on reception were lovely (especially the one who helped us when we realised we were going to miss check in time).
Very disappointed with the room. Have stayed at oaks brands before and this did not live up to standards. Room is very outdated. What looked like mould in the shower. Bed was uncomfortable, stained bed linen and brown stains on both lamps and the curtains as well.
Neither lamp worked next to the bed, with one of them, the wall plug was bent and broken and unable to be used. Also I have sleep apnea and require a machine to be set up next to the bed. PowerPoint's were hard to access where we had to physically pull out the bed / side cupboards to be able to plug it in.
Table/bench underneath the tv wasn't cleaned after the last people. And the fan in the bathroom which turned on automatically with the light was so unbearably loud that my partner and I both went to the toilet etc in the dark as it kept running for a bit even after the light was switched off. Also a questionable smell coming from the fridge which smelled similar to 'off' milk.
Definitely not a 4 star standard hotel - we stayed in a 3 star hotel at Port Macquarie that was much better standard...
Read moreBest place to stay when exploring Nelson Bay. My husband and I received a complimentary wine bottle from the lovely receptionist when we picked up our room keys, loved it THANK YOU!! we booked a 2 bedroom apartment over the long weekend and we absolutely enjoyed our stay and the set up of the apartment. Also loved the fact that a sofa chair was available in the living room for extra sleeping space. Also, there is a big swimming pool within the complex. There is also a laundromat on the basement level but it will only take $1 coins so be sure to keep some handy, also the dryer won't completely dry your clothes even with the high heat option so be aware to sun them out after which isn't a big hassle really. If you would like to explore the marina without taking your car, this would be the perfect place to stay as it is literally walking distance to woolworths and d'Alboras marinas and a shell serve station etc etc..Checking in and out was made so easy, they have an express checkout box outside the reception and also in the underground parking making it so much easier to return the room keys and head off so early in the morning.
I would highly recommend the oaks nelson bay lure suites to anyone wanting to have a good family time out or...
