Response to owner (2nd)
The owner’s latest response—calling me idle and suggesting that “guys like me are not good for Port Stephens”—is a blatant personal attack that reflects an utter lack of professionalism and respect for customers.
Personal Attacks Instead of Accountability: Rather than addressing the concerns I raised about the quality of food and service, the owner has chosen to insult and deflect. This attitude is not only disappointing but also shows a clear unwillingness to accept constructive feedback or improve.
Every Customer Deserves Respect: As customers, we spend money and we have every right to share our experience. Feedback—both positive and negative—helps businesses improve and guides other travelers in making informed decisions.
A Call to Fellow Travelers: I strongly encourage everyone who has dined here to leave honest reviews about their experience. Whether your experience was positive or negative, your feedback matters. Businesses that thrive on tourism must understand the importance of quality service and respect for their customers, who spend their hard-earned money to create memorable experiences.
For the Owner: I hope this feedback prompts you to reflect and improve, as your behavior not only tarnishes the reputation of your establishment but also affects the overall experience of visitors to Port Stephens. Tourism thrives on customer satisfaction, and it is your responsibility to contribute positively, not negatively.
Response to owner -
I am appalled by the owner's response to my initial review, which is completely false and misleading. Let me clarify:
Mutton Biryani Claim: I initially inquired about mutton biryani, but the staff informed me that it was not available as they only serve chicken, fish, and other items—not mutton biryani. There was no "bargaining" involved, as the dish was simply not offered. Chilli Chicken Claim: It is absurd to claim that I ordered chilli chicken for 4-5 people. I traveled with my family, and only my elder child and I eat chilli chicken. This fabricated claim by the owner is nothing but an attempt to defame a genuine customer. Spending and Service Expectations: I stayed at Oaks Port Stephens, spending over $1,200 on accommodations and significantly more on food and other services. To suggest that I would argue over a few dollars is not only ridiculous but also insulting. I gave glowing reviews to other establishments in the area that provided excellent service, but I will not shy away from sharing my genuine disappointment when warranted. It is unfortunate to see this kind of unprofessionalism from the owner, who seems to have a habit of defaming customers who provide constructive criticism. A responsible business owner should acknowledge feedback gracefully and work towards improvement rather than resorting to baseless accusations.

I had the unfortunate experience of ordering chicken biryani from 2 brothers restaurant, and it was, without exaggeration, the worst biryani I’ve ever had. Calling it biryani feels like an insult to the dish—it was essentially plain boiled rice and chicken tossed with masala. No flavor, no aroma, no effort whatsoever. Also, chilli chicken was actually tandoori chicken tossed in sauce.
To make matters worse, the person I spoke to on the phone was shockingly rude. When I called to express my concerns, he dismissively asked, "You tell me what’s in the biryani," followed by a casual "I don’t care." It’s one thing to serve terrible food, but the lack of basic customer service and respect takes the experience to a whole new low.
If you’re looking for authentic Indian food, stay as far away from this place as possible. Absolutely pathetic food and service. Hands down the worst restaurant I’ve...
Read moreOverrated!! Reluctant not so interested staff and below average food. Not a GO for me!!
Went there with a lot of expectations like everyone who is here to have some great times on a holiday. But here is the sequence of events:
Entered…found the restaurant fully empty when we reached around 17:30. Perhaps too early. Lady sitting there is not welcoming and seemed not so interested. If she is at the job, she must learn to welcome the customers with a happy face. Food comes second. Being on the phone while customer has no bread on the table and looking around when she turns to see so we could place back the order for more breads….says a lot about the professional standards this place needs to raise. Not to forget there were just us in the whole restaurant at the time & staff being busy on phone shows you guys in bad light. Too casual. The way she directed us to the table, took the food order, responded to us and placed the food on the table with zero courtesy confirmed this further that she was not having customer servicing skills. May be she was having a bad day so i kind of ignored but looks like more people have highlighted same issue in other reviews. Guys i am not against my community and try to always support reasonably. Here you are running a restaurant in a touristy place, where everyone comes with a certain expectation of having a time to cherish..please try to be more hospitable next time, trust me it doesn't take much but adds a lot of value. I would love to see your business flourish even further but only when you do everything right (as seen from the eyes of your customers). Now the food....well i will be honest it was below average & not restaurant level..in terms of taste, portion(quantity) or presentation. I am sure i can cook better than this being a guy who has very limited kitchen exposure. Hopefully this was not your main chef at work, else it's a serious matter for you to ponder upon. Service and taste are two main things for food busines sin my opinion. People can pay more and you can justify that if both of these are addressed.
Please, take this positively and improve. I really want our community to shine. Would come back only when there is an acknowledgement of this, coupled with more customers writing good reviews. Wish you all the best for...
Read moreFrom start to finish Our experience @ "Angry Brothers" (2 Brothers) was very Hu-A-ngry, we paid $190 and went to another restaurant to eat and paid almost the same amount (very expansive two dinners in one day - very Hu-A-ngry).
2 Brothers = unauthentic food & Angry Service. Gives you a feel like a typical roadside service, however, the roadside food would still be even authentic, but the food @ 2 Brothers felt like few days old.
"Daals were swimming in the ocean of oil and water" and seemed they forgot to add Tadka, which was served by the lady with the head scarf by throwing plates on the table.
Table of 10 got one water bottle and asked for another one was the little "Noke Zoke" (best to carry your own water).
Spinach Naan was rather cheese naan with missing spinach (may be carry your own spinach).
If you love 🌶 chillies🌶 on sides, best to buy from nearest Woolworth and eat before you dine and go to "Angry Brothers" only if you have to..!!
Seemed bit unprofessional and rude with 4.1 🌟 star google reviews (not sure how can you get to this - seemed bit odd and appears overrated)
@ 2 (Angry) Brothers, pls take this as a constructive feedback as you are in the business of (Hospitality) selling love by serving authentic and genuine food, however your missing your core ingredients "Love". After having a long day, we come to dine at your place, then pls try to serve food with love ❤️ instead of Anger and frustration. I have also seen your responses on some of the other posts - pls don't defend yourself or rate your customers, instead learn and understand why you have been rated like that...!!! Improve next time..!! If require help provide your staff necessary anger management training and lesson to smile, so others can have a better experience.
Good luck and hopefully we hear a good feedback 👍 next tjme and dine at...
