To be honest it is a nice, comfortable caravan park. I just got put off straight away when I was not offered my big4 discount ($50) as I had booked through booking.com and then given the whole speel about booking.com taking 20% commission even though the standard commission rate is actually 15% and a decision solely made by the business owners. I as a consumer just want the best price and booking conditions for our needs - I paid through booking.com as it was the same price and allowed last minute cancellation. I am sick of borders closing or lockdowns to only have our deposits held every time I can’t travel, I currently have deposits held in Alice Springs and the Gold Coast that I have to use with the next 12 months, I don’t have the ability to include Mildura as well. I won’t be renewing my Big4 membership, I’ll be instead signing up with discovery and G’day parks…
Cabin was older style, however clean with comfortable beds although I wouldn’t recommend sleeping on the top bunks as the safety bar was lower than the top of the mattress. Fire blanket was non existent and a quick check of the fire extinguisher shown they had not been checked for 18 months. It is a legal requirement to have these inspected every 6 months, I’m glad we didn’t have a fire. Door to bedroom was off the rails, although I fixed...
Read moreUnsafe, noisy, and poor costumer service. An hour before arriving we got a message warning us about locking bikes which we did not have time to do as the shops were closed by then. We got the only bike that did not fit into the en-suite (lucky that we did not get a regular site) stolen the first night. There are no boom gate, no locks being provided or an earlier warning to prevent that from happening. The staff seemed used to it and there was little reaction. That same night I also heard a fight and did not feel safe after the noise and the stolen bike so requested a cabin upgrade. While I understand they don’t have to provide it, there was not even a follow up with the manager or an answer to that request. The second night was not pleasant as on top of the noise from cars racing on Deakin, we felt unsafe. Over the 2 days, the kids saw around the campground signs that looked like a scavenger hunt that they inquired about it 3-4 times at the reception before they got the paper to do it and the receptionist found “the stamp” to complete its

Read moreWe visited on July 28th & 29th and because of demand pressure on accommodation by Tradies, we received an upgrade to superior accommodation. We had driven from WA to Queensland and were returning home, Mildura was our accommodation highlight for the entire trip. Understand that by this time we had wrestled with a great variety of TV & airconditioning systems. The Mildura unit presented unique ( top of the range )A/con & TV systems - BUT - there were no specific instructions - so a lot of trial-and-error ensued. For example the free-to-air TV channels were all accessed through the Foxtel set-top box, as opposed to the TV antenna so that took a bit of working out. Some specific instructions would make all the difference. However - we still loved our stay in Mildura. Thanks, John &...
