Quite possibly the worst fish and chips i have ever had. While the service was friendly, the food was below average.

Hamburgers - the pattie was clearly a frozen pattie, most likely from Coles. It was slimy, lukewarm and substandard. It's a fish and chip shop. Just buy some mince, add some seasoning and cook over heat! It's fish and chip shop 101. My home made burgers are much better than this slop.

The burger was supposed to come with lettuce but it had spinach instead with no warning. Also, probably my fault, but I expected, from 50 years of experience, that a fish and chip shop hamburger would come with cheese and tomato. Should've checked the menu - just a frozen pattie with some spinach!

The flake was the smallest flake I have ever seen in my life. I thought we'd been mistakenly given a fish bite... I was wrong. The ocean is literally 500m away. Surely the quality of the fish should surpass anything i get closer to Melbourne?

Large chips was the size that seemed big enough to feed a family of 4. $9.50 for what would equate to $5 worth of chips in Melbourne. Clearly the most expensive potatoes in the country. Maybe they were gold plated. They certainly appeared so, the brightest yellow chips I've ever seen. Looked like maybe the oil wasn't hot enough.

All in all, a very disappointing experience. Won't be going back and would recommend giving this place a wide berth. Gordon Ramsey would've used every expletive under the sun tasting...

Excellent fish and chips. Very good hamburgers too. A very clean shop with friendly service. The only letdown would be the supplying of polystyrene for hamburgers and grilled fish. I would suggest cardboard packaging, especially in a coastal area. As a long time Island local, i will be back. Plastic #6 – PS (Polystyrene) Polystyrene is Styrofoam, which is notorious for being difficult to recycle, and thus, bad for the environment. This kind of plastic also poses a health risk, leaching potentially toxic chemicals, especially when heated. Most recycling programs won't accept it. ...

This was the worst fish and chips I have ever had I would not recommend this place first thing had to wait 45mins+ then after I got the food went back to hotel and found out they forgot the chips had to go back and get chips. Then when I got home and had the food my potatoe cakes were really over done calamari was too oily mostly batter. My wife's gf fish and pumkin cakes were that oily that she couldn't eat it along with the undercooked sweet potatoe cake they only thing we could eat was the chips.

DO NOT GO HERE VERY BAD SERVICE AND FOOD...

Probably one of the better fish and chip places on the island. Potato cakes, chips, dim sims and the fish were all good. Generous amount of chips served that weren't overcooked. Fish was fresh and not over battered. We had takeaway and sat at Cowes Beach and enjoyed the sun setting. Staff were great and very helpful and engaging with customers which was nice because they were extremely busy. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Pram/Stroller accessible. Good parking but do watch the time limits as the parking inspectors are vigilant.

C.C.'s Fish & Chips on Thompson Ave Cowes is one of the better choices for fish and chips on the island. Service is always fast and friendly. They have a number of different packs to choose from and the prices are reasonable. We always enjoy the battered flakes and barramundi. The chips are pretty good too. Great option for a quick take out on the island.
