I stayed here on several occasions. 1st was with my dog in a one bed cabin, could have complained about the unclean rundown cabin, but I did actually enjoyed my stay. 2nd time I stayed I took my van with dog in tow… stayed at the new ensuite site. First thing that happened was that upon using the ensuite I was locked in, I waited for the office to answer the phone and waited, finally a maintenance man heard me and managed to get me out. Turned out there was a screw left in the latch that didn’t allow the lock to release, all the other ensuites had the same issue… then on the 3rd day a group of kids on electric bikes were hammering through the park. I took my dog to the beach and saw the same kids riding on the sand and they threw their chocolate milk cartons on the sand and left. I picked them up and knew where they were and casually walked up to their onsite van and gave them back to them… I did inform the office about this and the lady there told me they knew exactly who I was talking about as I wasn’t the first to make a complaint. Well next day the kids decided to play football near their friends van that happened to be 20 meters from mine and set about purposely kicking the ball into my van and sending a little 5/6 year old kid to fetch the ball back. I again told the office staff. So then the building works started at the same family’s on site van, nail guns, compressors, the whole kit and kaboodle…

So move on to the 3rd time staying there thinking it can’t happen again, WRONG, this time on my second day , right next to my van building works on an onsite van began, literally first thing in the morning the radio goes on followed by the construction , it was a joke, this time I’d had enough and packed up and requested a refund. The office staff said there was nothing they could do about it, I asked for the managers number and left… Spoke to the manager and got a refund for the days I did not stay.

Fast forward months and months later and I decided to stay in a cabin, wasn’t going to risk the van stay again… On ringing the office to book I was told about the option of two cabins, I made my choice and gave the lady my NRMA number, after a short while she told me there was something wrong with her computer, then she told me it had crashed and would have to ring me back, no worries I said. I received a call 20 min later and a guy saying he was the manager, who I had recognised, he then told me I was black listed from the park……in shock I ask why, he proceeded to tell me that I had abused the office staff and when leaving there park I sped off frightening the staff… ok, picture this, I leave the office and get into my car which is parked directly opposite the office, appropriately 5/6 meters in-front of my car is the exit boom gates, how much speed could I have possibly reached in this distance, I was towing a 7 meter caravan and I stopped to enter the code to operate the boom lift, directly after the boom gate is the road…. I have now started the process of a formal complaint with the ACCC , I did reach out to those involved to discuss the matter, but they have chosen not to.

I will involve a lawyer in this as they have taken my money and they have also not held there selves to caravan park standards and duty of care… they also blatantly lied about my actions, that were frankly impossible.. they obviously did not think about their accusations before speaking.

Long post, but the management of this park are failing big time in their duties. ...

Phillip Island Cowes NRMA Beach Front Holiday Park.

Our Stay At Park.

Good points 1 Gas cook top 2 Microwave 3 Beautiful enclosed veranda for the pooches. 4 Kitchen Table chairs 5 Air con 6 Internet 7 Dinner set Pot’s Cutlery etc 8 Lovely park walk around. 9 Great Beach of lead area for Pooches.

Negative points . EXTRA NIGHT COMPENSATION WAS DROWNED BY CHAINSAWS AND TREE GRINDING MACHINE YOU CALL THAT AN EXTRA NIGHT AND A RUBBISH BIN COLLECTOR TRUCK BANGING TO WAKE US UP IN MORNING COLLECTING BIN . . DEFINITELY NOT HAPPY. 1 Construction and Trucks and Crane’s on going for four days etc 2 Putting in New Accommodation Unit’s, Nail-Guns Hammers banging on going all day. 3 Chain Saws Tree lopping Mulching Grinding Machine on going on extra day given making our stay more uncomfortable. That we had to go out of park …

. 4Sink Blocked Told normal slow Drain ,Got lone of Plunger from another person and cleared blockage worked better after that. Kitchen cutlery draw Fragment’s of dirt in it, Grime around sink edge . 5 Wasn’t able to use Rang hood above Gas Cook top for 2 day’s until found out doors Jammed above it ,managed to pull out and use it after that. 6 Thick dirt behind TV on wall above Food Prep Area, which Fell of fallen into food prepared on bench below. 7 Upon entering Budget Cabin dog friendly ,Strong Bad Smell of Feces Poo Foul Odor, cleaner came sprayed it out with room deodorizer which smelt nearly as bad as the Odor. . 8 Had to turn Mattress around to decline Sleeping position. Reason First Night Sleep Our Bodies slid to end of bed Due to Decline in Mattress.. 9 Upon making bed again Noticing Mattress Stained and Doona Stained. Fortunately Linen was Clean.

Shower Cubical .

1 Shower needed non slip mat very slippery, Very small area, but Just bearable very low water pressure. Assume water saver in shower rose that has low pressure anyway.. 2 Children size toilet to enter you had to walk sideways to get past door to use Kiddies Toilet Door open's half way along side toilet would have been better opening out towards room. .Very Difficult For Large Person as myself.

l booked for Ibis dog friendly cabin, but ended up with budget cabin .If there’s going to be construction, why couldn’t you ring Us who’s booked the cabin, and explain what’s happening and ask if you still want the booking, l would have made another time, and then my husband and l could have enjoyed the park and surroundings better, so disappointing We did appreciate the offer of one nights free, but we ended up with the Tree Lopper’s right behind our Cabin on that day as well Total waist of a Day..

Suggestion Outside veranda It needs some sort of couch as you have no couch in side Soft Seating. We both are over 65 ,and Seniors and that cabin is not fit for elderly. This is supposed to be fairly standard for people our age.. Very Low Toilet, and No Soft seating accept Hard Kitchen chairs to relax in. Last morning woke up to another last Bang of a Truck picking up Rubbish Bin early in morning.

Sorry but we really do not believe we got value For the money we paid for a relaxing few day’s at Cow’s Holiday Park Philip Island..

CABIN 86 MORE LIKE A HOLIDAY OVER A SEPTIC TANK.

Was the worst experience we had on a supposed to be quiet holiday at a beach front at...

Very underwhelmed with our stay. Specifically booked the Pelican cabin as it had a larger L shaped kitchen bench and 2 couches. For our family we really preferred to have the extra space which is why I booked at this site and this room. We arrived to a smaller cabin which we were unprepared for and the smaller space did impact our holiday. I brought this up with the front desk and the response received was that she had mentioned to management (?) previously that the photos online were incorrect and I should have phoned them before booking. I explained that as a customer, I felt like it was safe to presume that what was advertised and paid for, was what was received. The park facilities were really clean, well kept and inviting. The location of the park is excellent! The cabin appeared tidy however after spending more time in it, there was a lot of dust on top of items, old toothpaste on bathroom walls, pots and plates from previous cabin-goers were dirty, security door didnt lock, couch arm was broken and mould forming on the window sills in bunk bedroom and around the shower. Our kids were keen to sleep in the top bunk beds but the blind chain was not attached to the wall which worried me for their safety (I believe this is a legal, safety requirement!). I raised this as we were leaving and hopefully it has been rectified. When we arrived there were 3 lighbulbs blown. Notified front desk and they were replaced promptly however all the globes in the whole cabin/park varied between warm and cool lights. I don't quite understand why and it would look a lot more tidy/professional to put in one...

We had a nice stay here in the glamping tent despite some frustrations. 1 of 5, I think they have. Great amenities, had everything you could need and really homely. Weber Grill outside and views of the bay, you're literally on the beach. There's a double bed, plus a raised sleeping area with 2 single beds in. The tent walls have windows with insect screens and flaps you can pull downs for privacy to to keep A/C in if you need. Large deck outside with seeting for about 8, so plenty of space. Sadly the cleanliness wasn't 100%, there was a pencil under the rug which I trod on in bare feet. Lifted up the rug to move it and there was loads of sand underneath. The sofa area was somewhat stained too. What frustrated us more though was the way they deal with check out. It's 10am check out, which is too early in my opinion and buried deep in the 7 or 8 different Terms and Conditions documents. Not easily indentified or highlighted when booking. But they put in the documents they give you that the code to the boom gate expires at 10am, so you won't be able to exit if you're later. The cynic in me would say this is a nasty tactic to get you out. It's incredibly guest unfriendly at best and guaranteed to infuriate, and essentially means you have to vacate at about 9.40am to get car loaded/drive to exit etc. They need 5 hours to clean in between guests but can't get that right. Not great.

Stayed at the Sheerwater Cabin recently in Sep 2024. Had no idea what to expect as we were looking for a simple 1-night accommodation for pre- and post-Penguin Parade. Got upgraded to Sheerwater Cabin (2 rooms) from Ibis Cabin which was awesome. Check-in was easy at reception. However it wasn’t very clear that you had to park at reception first and not go to the boom gate directly…maybe a small sign could be placed there. Instructions were clear via the hardcopy instructions and easy to follow. Cabin was really comfortable with a dedicated parking space in front. Air-conditioner with heating function was really strong. The second bedroom didn’t have the bedsheets set-up as I indicated that I had kids late (AU$20 extra) but the items were sealed and easy to put on. Only issue was that I had to fiddle a little with the front netting gate as I wasn’t familiar with the locking mechanism. Overall, this was really worth it for the price compared to a hotel! The kids really liked the cabin concept and there were cute rabbits running wild in the area as well so do be careful when driving :) Additional: We bought dinner back from a Vietnamese restaurant (Saigon Maggie) after the Penguin Parade just a few minutes drive away from NRMA. Really lovely overall as it closed at 8.30pm and much better than eating at the Penguin Parade cafe!
