It was 2 AM. Couldn't smoke on premises so I came down 6 flights of stairs to go outside to smoke finding it hard to sleep. Not use to having to carry your room keys around, luckily just before the building exit I realized I 'd locked myself out. Looking around for emergency contact not that I had my phone on me, luckily there was a printed note by the window seal of the reception for a contact number and room number.
"Good Heavens" I felt and went to knock on the door but to no avail. So being tired I try to make the best of it and decided to reside myself to the staircase by the reception till someone turns up at 10 Am which was the normal time for this establishment to initiate interaction on a daily basis.
I figured that I would have been detected of my presence through the surveillance camera, half an hour later the person obviously designated to the responsibility from the room holla'd out " Oi, you! I looked up and the young man looked upsolutely annoyed and as I walked up towards my room he pulled out his master key, opened and the door. As I was thanking him he abruptly went over my voice and said " Go to sleep!". It was quite disheartening that I was treated that way. Having said that I did leave my brand newly bought a black set of Samsung mobile Fast charger and Cable at the power point in the room behind. Having gone back there two days later to be confronted by the same young man I explained my situation to him.
He had me waiting for approximately 15 mins only to come out to the pavement outside the hotel to show me a set of an old iphone charger and cable. I said thank you but not mine and left. WOW!.... What has this world come to I...
Read moreQuite good for a budget hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful, though a bit hard to find after 5pm. Our room came with a computer, which was very welcome. The wifi is free and not metered. The location is excellent - close to Central Station, Chinatown and Paddy's Markets. It's an easy walk to Darling Harbour and the CBD. There are plenty of good eateries and lots of small supermarkets close by.
The only negative aspects of this extablishment are the lack of airconditioning in the rooms and the lack of an elevator. We stayed for three nights and two of those were very warm evenings and our room was very hot. The ventilation was poor and the floor fan provided did little to cool down the room, making it quite difficult and unpleasant to sleep. If you're staying here in summer I suggest asking for a room with a window facing west or east as you're most likely to get the benefit of any breeze. The lack of an elevator would make acess to the second and third floors quite a challenge for any elderly or...
Read moreI had this accommodation booked for 2 weeks, knowing I was going to be staying in Sydney. Then I received an email saying they were cancelling the booking due to something. (which was with AGODA, so I wasn't at this point thinking anything to do with the hotel so continued on).... however rang the hotel personally to correct this and the man I spoke to was very RUDE, suggested I find another hotel, which I did not want to do as this was weeks in planning, cheap etc., and a further person due to stay lives in a corona virus hotspot so I said they will not be staying and can you tell me different bed options now please..which is what sparked the person to say "find another hotel" and subsequently hung up on me and will not answer the phone now. Absolute f*wits, DO...
