Bel Air Motel — Hotel in West Mackay

Booked the room for my daughter for after her surgery using my visa debit card on bookings com. When my daughter arrived they would not allow her to check in because she does not have a driver's license and would not accept a visa debit card, I contacted them and spoke to an extremely rude lady. When I asked why I was able to book the room using my debit card and not a credit card if they don't accept debit cards as security she was rude and didn't acknowledge that they should accept Visa debit cards. Following on from that I said I might suggest they remove their motel from bookings.com if it allows people to use visa debit cards and they do not allow visa debit cards. She proceeded to tell me that I should not tell management how to run their business and then after saying "I'll tell you what I saw them lurking around outside", referring to my daughter and her friend who she had just rudely ejected from the motel I informed her that I will lodging a complaint against her personally to management and putting up a poor review as her manner was disgusting and then I hung up on her. It came across as a personal ejection.

And to top it off they charged an extra $50 to get the key

Arrived exhausted so wanted no hassle. The lady at the desk was pleasant and just got down to it. No dramas. After I settled in she was kind enough to point out where to go locally to get a feed etc. There is a pool, on one of the main streets but no road noise. Easy parking immediately out front of the room. Good sized bed. Single room but scored a large bed and a single. ||One thing I was a bit miffed over - no cutlery save a teaspoon. Firstly do not believe the from $79. Immediately the rude abrupt woman said $84. Very old 80's style. I should have checked the room first. Aircon very noisy took hours to cool the room. The room had an extreme chemical smell, had to get my Glen20. The rude lady emphasised over and over " no cooking in the room. Hey what motel at $84 doesn't have microwave. The last reviews on here were 9 months ago. Place is now run down, pool not cleaned and definitely no bikki. My advice is if you are to pay $84 go back up the road to the Galaxy for $95 like I did for...
