My overall review of the Wellington Motel in Wodonga is worthy of much more than the 5* above I've given; its location is exceptíonally central to town, making it a short walk to all of your essential services!
The management must obviously regard comfort & hygiene as paramount to all whom visit & work at the Motel because coming from someone from a very clean n' tidy upbringing I am thoroughly impressed with the asthetics of My room which was evidently serviced to a very high standard prior to My arrival!!
If it is quality 'with value' that you're looking for in a Motel room then you'll find all of that and so much more besides in a stay at Wodonga' Wellington Motel...
To be critical about anything, if I must I will simply add that I felt a tad 'belittled' and 'spoken down to' upon My check in!!
All because I am currently homeless due to NO FAULT OF MINE and as a result Beyond Housing in Wodonga\the Australian Tax payer's have been great to provide Me with the funds for seven nights in a Motel room... "I am sincerely grateful to all for this" and subsequently have been allowed the dignity that 'We all' are entitled to!!
I felt judged an illicit drug abuser and a careless alcoholic; someone who upon check in intended to cause mayhem. "All of which I am not" and have NO INTENTION OF DOING anyone harm!!
Perhaps in the future the Management might kindly instruct it's employee\s to be more discreet in their opinion of 'what is' by the way a community issue and one that can have ripple effects 'for us all'..
However none of My criticism should be used against this business, for they honestly do a great job and as I said I would give them more* if I...
Read moreI booked in for two nights, the communication from booking in and information was good. After going through the electronic check in and receiving my key, I found I didn't need a key to open the door. The door was locked but as I push the key in the door popped open? I notice the windows banging when I closed the door and found they where in a bad state of repair and where unsecured, this was both front and back of the unit. The bathroom was a jump back to the 1960's and looked like they had not been cleaned for that long, no exhaust fan, the hand basin was all cracked and plastic' the tiled shower base and walls covered in black mould. The wall mounted air conditioner had only one speed and I had to change the batteries to operate it, the tinny TV in the far corner very hard to see and I had to reset the factory settings to get a clear picture. Security of the Motel was only CCTV on the outside, my first night I spent most the night chasing a homeless person away who was trying all the doors and listening to the unit doors if they where occupied. He would then go back to the unattended reception office and try to break into the key return box hanging on the wall. Most the time I was watch the car park area. The pictures posted on the website don't reflect this hotel at all, the price is too much for...
Read moreManagement is rude unhelpful, and tried to charge me a fee for smoking when I have never have had a smoke in my life.
Hotel itself is very old, bricks have holes and allow for insects to enter room, beds are hard and you can feel springs in mattress. Large gaps under front door allows bugs, mosquitoes ect in.
I called the owner Trystan and asked why I was invoiced $250 and I was told because I smoked in the room. I said I beg your pardon I don’t smoke, he then said well my housekeepers advised they could smell marijuana.
I just can’t believe he is able to just rob each guest $250 for a cleaning fee. This is fraud and I have reported it to the police and my institution. Avoid this hotel like the plague unless you want to be robbed accused of smoking or pay a $250 fee.
Please if your going to accuse me of such things atleast approach me whist a guest, or have some evidence. Not just send me a emailed invoice days after I’ve departed expecting a free $250 off me.
I will be seeking legal advise and making sure this hotel isn’t able to do this to anybody else. What a...
