The Quest Apartments at Wollongong, Well first things first….. I want management to know that we booked in about 5:15pm on the Friday and booked out and about 10am on the Saturday, EVER staff member we encountered from the moment we booked in until we left were sensational. We (as people) always talk about first impressions and I have to say that the staff we spoke with are a true credit to Quest Apartments. These staff members had a personality, they were polite, knowledgeable about the area and could hold a conversation. If I could ask one thing from this review is that management pass on to the staff working over this period our thanks for their positive impression of the Quest Apartments.
Anyway, parking was a breeze, some spots were a little tight but overall it was secure and safe. The foyer and elevator area were clean, neat and tidy.
We were located on the third floor and had a two bedroom apartment. The apartment was spacious and had a functional layout making out stay comfortable and giving us all that little bit of space.
A couple of negatives: Out two bedroom apartment had to bathrooms and as each apartment has it’s own hot water heater we found that we were not able to run the two showers at once without one of the showers going completely cold. Not much point having two showers if you have to run them separately.
During our visit the weather was generally poor. Rain and strong winds. We found that something (I am assuming the exhaust fan in the bathroom) was banging during the night. It was only slight but did get annoying.
The entire apartment could use a modernisation, replacing some of the older fitting, little new toilets, shower screen etc…. In saying that there is nothing wrong with the current ones expect they are becoming a little dated.
Now it sounds like a few negatives however I must say, for what we were in Wollongong for this hotel was really well located, right in the heart of Wollongong. Close to the main shopping district, a very short walk to the Illawarra Performing Art Centre, Win Stadium, the Beach, food and everything else you could possibly want. The beds were large and reasonably comfortable.
Overall, I would defiantly stay here again and I would recommend these apartments to people wanting to stay in the...
Read moreA great place. Great staff who are not at all fussed with accommodating your requests. They've got everything you need away from home (everything you need for cooking, an iron, washer, dryer and dishwasher) . If you're there for a long stay ask how often they will clean the apartment, replace the linen etc. since this can vary. Ask for some heaters in advance if you are going there during the winter or early spring.
It's in the middle of the CBD and is placed conveniently located to the shopping, some great gyms (try vision fitness) the nightlife, a cinema, good restaurants and to even a spa across the street. The free city bus (55A and 55C - for anti - clockwise and clockwise) that runs like clockwork (pun intended) to most destinations worth visiting in the city, is only 5 minutes walk away.
Would've have given it 5 stars but the free WiFi was down a few days and getting it back online took quite a few days. This can be a killer for an international traveller. Especially when it keeps happening over and over, and it didn't seem like a one off situation.
Quest also offers free parking for you and any visitors you may have, which is great. If you're there for a long stay it will soon become your home...
Read moreI should have rated 5 stars. Unfortunately, when we entered our room, it was cleaned except for the toilet. We learned from Maria (the housekeeper) that it was a miscommunication. The toilet was fixed 2 days ago, but it was missed communicating that it was already done fixing. It should be checked before giving the room key cards to the customer. I would give credit and kudos to Maria in providing explanations, helping the customer understand the situations. Parking is a separate payment per day charge. I would recommend adding it to the room bills because it's sometimes hard to find available street parking upon check-in. Their hotel parking is at the back street on the right up the ramp. You need a room access key card to swipe and open the shutter gate. There is no room service, but there are plenty of food shops along the next street. Be careful going up the ramp because it's steep. Overall, we will be coming back because it's a very convenient location for the city proper and...
