I usually have a nice time here, although I don’t stay often. Today my server was kind of just mean though, I’m not sure what I did I went in during the busiest hour, I understand that, but even still - being impatient and being mean work very cohesively. When I was standing waiting to order, I heard the man say “I’ll get it.” in a not very kind tone. I greeted him, and got a questions for my order back and if it’s takeaway, no greeting. He didn’t smile, or even look at me throughout the entire interaction. I told him what I’d like (Almond Croissant) and he immediately left to pack it. I didn’t even know when to pay, I only realised because I looked to the card reader ?? What if I hadn’t just wanted that? I did also want to pay in cash, but it’s okay either way. When he gave me the food, he didn’t ask if I wanted it heated, or any cutlery, he just passed me the croissant and immediately walked away once more to go do some other task. I said to have a nice day as I left, and didn’t get a single peek back, not even an acknowledgment. All I got was a man too focused on his future tasks to focus on his current one. You cannot speed up time by moving faster, I promise you. Slow down, and your practices will complete quicker and more efficiently. I had to walk home and heat up the croissant myself. Although I wanted to eat on the beach. It was okay. Not the best croissant I’ve ever had but not bad! For the money though, I would not repurchase. $10 and some change for a croissant, Lordy I was shocked haha but I guess that one is my fault, I didn’t check if there were prices. I’m usually quite lenient with fast service, I know how rushed you can feel sometimes, but I wasn’t even treated like a customer, more so like a nuisance, it just felt cruel. I read the good reviews but I was really disappointed ! To be fair the manager Zoe made a lovely overture to rectify things next time which I greatly appreciated . if the staff follow her fine example things should be fine .It also seems only fair to mention that many other people like it here. However my experience was unpleasant, because unlike other cafes where the staff greet you warmly when you arrive ,we were ignored. Any attempt I made to engage with the staff was rebuffed and it made me feel quite awful to have my smile returned with such a surly stare .I like a bit of pleasantry with my coffee ! My mothers ham and cheese croissants were cold and tough and unpleasant and the cheese wasn't melted . When I asked for them to be warmed the woman returning the plates was actively hostile and didn't just ignore my attempts to be friendly, but glared at me as she slapped the plates down . When I tried to thank her ,she absolutely blanked me .I personally don't think a cafe should run out of cake by 10.20 am on a Friday morning.....but other people were clearly enjoying themselves and I observed the same woman who totally invisibled me and my mother ,being actively friendly to other people so I have no idea why we were treated so differently. However our experience was so unpleasant we won't be back....but as I said before the cafe does have an active group of regulars who clearly...

👅Pastrami Bagel truly the phattest bagel I have ever eaten for breakfast 😵 jam packed with good quality pastrami, not that packaged supermarket kind. It tasted so fresh. look at that coat of cheese, oml just send me to sleep in there pls. 🤤 pickles, sauce, a warm toasted bun and some veggies. only thing is that it felt like it was missing something flavour wise 🧐 served with perfectly crispy paprika seasoned fries and mayo. It was pretty good but the birria was definitely better 😉

👅Birria Toastie I never have great luck when trying birria around Sydney but this was definitely the best one yet. the consome was a thiccc BOII and not watery so it coated the toastie so well. 🙌 It was saucy, savoury and super flavourful + fragrant from the onion and coriander. It was damn good. good soup 😎 the toastie had tender beef, jalopenos and the perfect amount of cheese. It was just perfect tbh 🫶🏼 and paired with the paprika fries, it was hectic. (red lea og chippies wya)

the service was quick and speedy and the staff was super attentive. It was a bit of struggle to find parking but this was the perfect spot for an early day in the gong! 🤩
