Overall, this is a very good, high quality hotel with excellent facilities. The older more traditional area of the hotel has a good mix of traditional decor with a modern twist. The rooms on the first floor seemed to be reserved for the tour operator guests (Tui / Ingams etc). Our room was very clean and well equipped. Room 102 had a separate toilet away from the bathroom but with no sink, Handwashing was done in the main bathroom. Lovely deep bath and separate shower. |On our second day the tilt and turn door failed to operate properly and we were only able to open the door, not tilt it. This meant leaving the door open all day which was not an option for us and we knew the weather was warming up. There is no AC in the rooms and ventilation is done by opening a window. We asked to move and our alternative room at the end of the corridor (105) was huge with a large sunny balcony with good bathroom facilities. Room was a bit dark due to wood panelling but the bathroom was very well lit. |Small empty fridge in the room. 2 bottles of water on arrival but tap water there after, which is safe to drink here. No tea and coffee facilities which I think is the norm for Austria. |Lovely comfortable large bed with feather pillows (but you have to pay for the special pillows which seems most bizaar). In room 105, The feathers in the pillows were very scratchy but these were replaced when asked with softer feather pillows. Bath robes and spa slippers. Nice touch. Very clean room. |The spa area was incredible and well thought out. Inside and outside Jacuzi. Inside pool (a little cool for me). Water beds and Sauna, Steam room. Outside sun bathing area. Extra towels were available for the use at the spa. |Food? Think Professional Master Chef with the fish particularly being cooked to perfection. A little fancy and rich, by the end of the week with us craving some simple Austrian food but overall the fact that the meals were served at your table (with exception to the salad) was appreciated. |Breakfast was good. A good choice of cheese and hams. Bircher muesli (delicous), fresh fruit and a chef cooking eggs., sausages and bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes. Choice of jams and good quality bread. Nice self service coffee machine (the one on the left has better tasting coffee in our opinion). |Waiting staff (David was our waiter) were very friendly and approachable, as were the other waiting staff. |What lets this hotel down is some of the staff on reception and one tall blonde, female, in the restaurant area (folds napkins in the morning). No eye contact, grumpy, unapproachable, said good morning but not sure if she meant it. We had a similar experience at reception. With exception to one dark haired female (shoulder length hair) who was always smiling and helpful, all other staff we encountered seemed not to know how to smile, were grumpy and we felt like we were not welcomed. We really are not sure what is going on and why they would want to be that way. |When checking out, no one asked if we had a good holiday and the final straw was on the last morning when we were being picked up by the coach 5 minutes before the breakfast room was open. We arrived 10 minutes early and asked the tall smart man on reception if we could have a quick coffee before leaving, the response was 'no, the restaurant does not open until 7 am. No apology or empathy and no chance of entering into conversation as he quickly shut himself away in the room behind reception. Maybe the owners think the quality of the hotel will be enough to keep customers coming...
Read moreThe welcome at the Hotel reception was very professional and organised, after the check inn, starting at the Bar for a welcome drink before accompany us to the Rooms while commenting and navigate us thru the Hotel verbally. The Rooms are decorated meticulously with taste and combination in design and colors, very bright ,with a huge dressing room/wardrobe,long large bathroom with Tub and Shower functioning as a rainfall. Two big Balcony doors in the main bedroom divided by a wall with a large Screen TV in front of the comfortable king size bed.Cleaning service for what i witnessed very superficial in my opinion, in comparison to the size of the room, they did it in less than 15 min, they just did the minimum required. Quality of food and service in the Restaurant was low, most of the staff is under qualified (and Inappropriate dress while serving) with very little notion of English and even German to my surprise, not attentive at all towards the customers.Little observation that needs a remark to the kitchen: You CAN'T write on the menu that you will serve a "Bouillabaisse" then instead you serve broth with half a dozen black mussels and a pair of mini shrimps in the plate !!! That is ABSOLUTELY a no go! Even the time restriction at dinner, before 20.00 hr maximum! But at least for the late time lovers breakfast until 11.00 hr.Breakfast was acceptable having a decent choice with salted food but no cakes, gâteau, tarte, pâtisserie ect. To get an omelette had to wait a while nearly every morning that someone would come to the counter to serve you and then to assist how your presence wasn't welcome. The staff (dinner/breakfast) generally didn't let you feel really welcome a part of maybe one or two, sadly, that's a very very low customer care presence. The structure of their modern Wellness area deserves few thumbs up, multiple turkish bath and sauna, spaceful and comfortable, all areas, and with a large pool. Bottom line, i loved the rooms and had a good sleep accompanied by fine relax, with that in mind, have to consider at the end the price i paid for and in my opinion i would not recommend it, there is a lot to improve in customer care and in the gastronomy department. That is Unfortunately, i say so, because it could and should do a lot more better for a...

pros: the kitchen and the serving staff are very good and polite. excellent breakfast and superb 5 course dinner. 15:00-17:00 buffet is very generous. spa area is top notch. big pool, big sauna (hot and steam). nude area rooms are spacious , warm and quiet (sound proof). excellent WIFI coverage . good speed too.
cons: its hard to find flaws in this hotel but I can be picky: a bit far from the main ski elevator (7m walk). you can wait for Bus E or D in front of the hotel TV remote control with dead batteries (I don't mind) . LG model which doesn't support modern screen mirroring balcony gate separating room 304 and 303 was banging in the wind . (had to tie it during night since the gate lock is too weak). business room has a dead iMac. nice decoration. While children are not allowed there, the Owner son's wife will occupy that room occasionally with her newborn child (breastfeeding) and you need to wait for the table (even if pre-order).yes, family rules ! one burnt spot light (not that I care). curtains will block 90% of the light no matter what you do. bathroom radio is not really working. spa hot tab is warm but not warm enough. Only 38 degree C. if booked outside the hotel website: you don't get the underground parking (pay 15/night) . however , there is plenty of free parking behind the hotel. The toilet paper is pretty rough with 2 layers only. I was expecting a softer paper for the price of the room. no free tap water in afternoon snack or dinner (Austrian rules ?)
bring from home: soft toilet paper roll , tooth paste. E14 220v strong bulb for bed reading (if you like reading books) . The provided bed head lamp is very weak. eye cover if you are a late sleeper portable steam machine if you suffer from dry air in winter. electric tea pot + ingredients if you like an...
