Chalets Coburg — Hotel in Politische Expositur Gröbming

The apartments of nice quality, though one negative moment spoiled the overall feeling of the trip. Reception lady rushed in the room a day before departure (Saturday) and not in polite way notified that we are by 15 minutes late for checkout. We told her to check because we leave in a day, she disappeared and never returned with even a small "sorry". Though what's interesting our room cards got cancelled a day before too, so probably in the system we were already check out? and how it worked with the payment for the last night then, no one knows.. We came back from mountains around 8 pm on Saturday, garage was not opening, hotel doors neither, reception is away. We called the provided on the door number, another (or the same) lady in very arrogant tone told us to get an all over master card key from the locker, only after that we got into the garage and room.

So this was a point that made us disappointed. At this exact moment customers were not treated as it should be.

Another small things to point out for improvement:

-breakfasts are good, but the smell of oil from omlets is all over, the kitchen air evacuator is not coping with the task. Even the whole room on the second floor smelled with oil, and the clothes are hardly smelled with burned oil after breakfast.

sauna is nice, but in colder times, there is no space to relax after the heat, there is only 1,5 X 1,5 meters area with shower. Another even tiny space where people can sit down/lay down and relax before steam sessions is...

You know what? I almost don't want to share this review because this place will become too popular and it will make it more difficult for me to secure a room next time ;-)

Chalets Coburg has been probably the very best ever apartment we have had!!! The location is better than perfect - walking distance to Planai, spectacular view and yet peaceful as it isn't "in the middle of things". The staff at reception and breakfast was incredibly friendly and supportive, we felt truly welcome, almost "at home". The breakfast is 100% the very best breakfast in a hotel ever. Varied every day, fresh and tasty ingredients, wide spectra from cereals, salads, sweets, classic spread and egg station, etc. In my experience, only at 5-star hotel buffets in New Delhi have I ever seen breakfast more elaborate than at Chalets Coburg.

An und für sich wirbt das Appartement mit luxuriösem Chi-Chi, wobei das einzig luxuriöse der überteuerte Preis ist. Ich weiß, es handelt sich um ein Appartement, aber bei mehr als 100€ pro Person und Nacht erwarte ich mir dann doch "normale" Standards wie Kosmetikspiegel im Bad, Taschentuchbox, Shampoos und Toilettenartikel, Zahnputzbecher, Ablage für Zahnbürsten bzw Zahputzbecher, Seifenspender in der Toilette (!?!) oder Haken für Handtücher, USB Anschlüsse, Ablageflächen oder mehr als 5h Ansprechpersonen vor Ort!!!

Zudem ist der Lärm der Straße unerträglich. Ein gemütliches Sitzen am Balkon, um den angepriesenen Dachsteinblick zu genießen, war schlichtweg unmöglich (außer man ist 80+ und schwerhörig!). Und da die Klimaanlage fehlt, war ein Schlafen bei geschlossenem Fenster eine Farce. Neben dem Lärm störte auch die Raucherecke der Angestellten unter unserem Schlafzimmer. Wachwerden durch feinstes Nikotin ist nicht wirklich so erbaulich...

Das Zimmer ist zwar modern eingerichtet, aber wirklich weit davon entfernt, dass das Konzept überdacht-funktional ist. Gehe ich davon aus, dass unser Appartement von 4Personen genutzt werden soll (und das v.a. im Winter), frage ich, wo die Personen ihre Sachen verstauen sollen. Ablageflächen Fehlanzeige! Steckdosen Fehlanzeige! Regale Fehlanzeige! Schubladen zumVerstauen Fehlanzeige!

Positiv ist die Hundeliebe der Besitzerinnen, aber das reißt es und v.a. den Preis bei Gott auch wirklich nicht mehr raus. Und BTW in Schladming hätte ich auch noch NIE eine Unterkunft erlebt, die Hunde nicht liebevoll behandelt.... Und man bezahlt ja auch für das "Hundepackage" 15€ pro Tag, für nix eigentlich...

Auch einige Angestellte waren recht nett (man wird mit der Zeit echt schon ordentlich genügsam und eigentlich sollte es nicht anders sein).

Also, von unserer Seite keine Empfehlung für eine weitere Buchung. 300 bis 400€billiger und es wäre das, was die Coburg Chalets sind, nämlich solide Mittelklasse, aber nicht mehr! Eine moderne Einrichtung ist nicht alles, es hätte wirklich jemand mit Hausverstand die Räumlichkeiten analysieren und konzipieren sollen...

Will man wirkliche Annehmlichkeiten und "Luxus" sollte man als Paar, Familie etc. (kostengünstiger!!) ein Hotel in Schladming buchen! Wenn eine All Inclusive Variante in einem renommiertem Hotel in Schladming günstiger als die Coburg Chalets sind, die wirklich absolut nichts - rein gar nichts!!! - außergewöhnliches bieten, wofür sie werben, dann sollte man sich als Betreiber der Chalets wirklich mal ernsthafte Gedanken über seine...
