Authentic Styrian cuisine in a genuine Austrian restaurant. Probably one of the best in Schladming. Tasty authentic food, in traditional interior, simple yet relaxed and spacious. I loved the mural painting on the back wall, a burlesque piece of naive art. Take a closer look and you'll find a few gags.

We have dined three times there because their Austrian dishes were great, very tasty and generous. We usually prefer Mediterranean Italian cuisine, but we had to appreciate their specific great taste of Austrian food.

The staff is great, warm yet respectful and deferential at the same time, without being intrusive or over proactive. They let you take your time and enjoy your evening, with them being around just in case you might need something.

Remarkably good food (we had a steak, a garlic soup, fish and pumpkin tiramisu). The steak was so delicate, soft and juicy I almost moaned after the first bite;) Fish so well made you eat it together with skin, cause it's so crispy and tasty. The garlic soup is delicious, clearly made with a real cream, thick and very tasty.

The service is one of the best in town, all staff are visibly very engaged, they work very fast (you ask for a beer and literally 90 seconds later it's already on your table) and they constantly screen the tables - the lady serving our table stopped by when she saw me comparing dish photos to menu, asking if she can explain something, I didn't even raise my hand or anything, and they're all fluent in English.

Kurz zu den Eckdaten. Ich bin seit über 25 Jahren ein sehr begeisterter Schladming Besucher. Ich kenne das Restaurant auch seit dieser Zeit. Ob es in den letzen Jahren zu einem Besitzerwechsel gekommen ist kann ich nicht sagen, jedoch war es schon anders als wie das letzte mal.

Positiv: -Auch ohne Reservierung zumindest mit 2 Personen war ein Tisch noch zu bekommen in der Hauptsaison (bei Nachfrage wurde jedoch geraten spätestens am selben Tag Mittags zu reservieren) -super freundliches Personal -einer der Besten Frittaten Suppen die ich in Österreich bisher gegessen habe -schnelle Bedienung -super Ambiente auch im Aussenbereich

Konstruktiv: -ich hatte das Gulasch mit dem Knödel und auch in der Karte steht ein „Gurkerl“ Dann hätte ich schon erwartet das mehr Gewürzgurke auf dem Teller liegt als wie eine Halbe aufgeschnittene, gerade weil ich Gewürzgurken liebe 🥰 -an sich kam das Essen schon seeeeehr schnell wenn ich überlege das das Essen was ich bestellt habe bestimmt gut vorzubereiten ist, dann kann ich verstehen das es maximal die Zeit dauert um das Essen anzurichten, aber dann lasse ich mir etwas Zeit, ansonsten macht das die Gemütlichkeit und Geselligkeit kaputt. Ich glaube so schnell hatte ich noch können essen :D

Ansonsten war es natürlich lecker aber doch irgendwie anders wie früher. Das Gulasch war im Gegensatz zu damals schon eine andere Nummer, eine 3 auszusprechen ist mir dann doch zu wenig von daher bin ich bei einer 4. Meine Frau hatte die Rippchen.
