We stayed eleven days in December 2016. Two adults and two girls and the apartment at the Alpenlodge suited us just fine. Close to the Giggijoch bahn and ten minutes by foot to village center with shops and restaurants. There are also and excellent restaurant/pizzeria Salinos two minutes away. ||We arrived really late so we had to go to Hotel Regina to pick up the key cards. We have told the hotel of our late arrival. The reception at Hotel Regina was closed but they had left and envelope outside by the entrance door for us. It had been really helpful if they had told us this before because we were knocking at the front door at first, the taxameter of the taxi running, and no one was coming and opening up. We start to look around us and finally found the envelope. It had been so much easier if they told us the procedure when we emailed them about the late arrival. ||The apartment at the Alpenlodge was really nice. Clean, big and nicely equipped. Two bedrooms, one large bathroom with double basins and both shower, bath and toilet . There was also a infrared both which we never used. There was also a separate toilet. |Kitchen area was ok. Kitchen was well equipped but since it was only two plate on the stove and no oven it was impossible to cook any dinner at home. So we had all our meal out except for breakfast. There was a fake fire behind glasses which make it cosy. The fire was a bit oddly placed though since you couldn't sit in front of it. |Good with storage one wardrobe each. ||An improvement would be if the apartment had hangers/pegs just inside the door were there was a mat to place your shoes. It is pegs further in in the apartment but since you have a lot of ski clothes when you are four persons, and sometimes ordinary jacket too it would have been great with more pegs. And when the ski clothes is wet it would have been much better to hang them in the entrance hall than in the hallway outside the bedrooms. ||Regina has several apartment house and one hotel. As a guest at the Alpenlodge you can use the spa in Hotel Regina. It is approximately 25 minutes walk between the Alpenlodge and Hotel Regina. I was there three times. Once for massage and once for fascial and the last time for Pedicyr. It was one changing room for both genders! A bit strange especially for us not living at the hotel that had to use the changing room. Massage was good. Facial ok but not more. The lady tried to sell more all the time to you by asking would you like an ampul, color of eye brows etc. without telling you what was including or not. I got a bit of a rush from the facial and told her that the day after when I had the Pedicyr. She just waved it away said it looked ok now but it didn't. It took two days and some cortisone to treat the rash. Not especially professional. |During the facial she also told me that she won't be doing any damp which was listed in the facial that I have booked. When I told her that I want the damp she first told me that she wasn't licensed for that and that was against the regulation then. But then someone else should have done my facial then! She then said it is not good for your skin with damp and many woman are claustrophobic against it and that the beauty industry doesn't recommend damp anymore and that she was ahead of her time! I didn't find her customer oriented. ||You can only book spa treatments between 8-11 and then after 15.30 which is a pity for us who doesn't ski. |The man who gave the massage was really nice and very pleasant. ||But back to the apartment at Alpenlodge I would say that everything was fine. The only huge downside was that it was Silver fishes in the bath room, toilet and in the kitchen. The maid put out traps but we still saw silver fishes afterwards. Since they come from the sewer traps won't help, they need to bring out the pest control and spray or put out poison. ||Even if it is an apartment their is a maid that change towels every second day and take out the garbage and the recycling. We tried to access the garbage room one day with the card key but we didn't have access there. It would have been great since the small mulch/compost bin easily got full. They also supplied you with toilet paper and one dishwasher tablet a day. |It would have been nice with one change of bed sheets during our stay since we rented the apartment for eleven days. The bed wasn't comfortable and the pillows were really bad. ||The check out time is 10:00 am but we asked to check out at 12.00 and that was not a problem and since it was only two hours they didn't charge us for late...
Read moreI booked the Alpenlodge specifically for the ambience...wanted rustic with flowers and high quality room with view of mountains. I communicated with management the day before the visit and was not told that the room was unavailable. When we showed up the hotel looked like it was mothballed waiting for winter season, but flowers were out on balconies. Turns out a lot of Solden was mothballed waiting for winter season, but still great town. We rang the bell and were directed to the Regina Alpdeluxe Apartments near center of town. The nice lady at the Alpdeluxe said the Alpenlodge was unavailable due to water outage and checked us into the Alpdeluxe without asking if the switch was OK. The Alpdeluxe was great, but our rustic with a mountain view turned into modern with a view of the second floor offices across from the room. Rated a 3 of 5 as we were not notified of the facility closure prior to arrival or when we buzzed the intercom and instead got the Alpdeluxe on...
Read moreNew, nice, luxurious and very comfortable apartment. Provides everything one expects, except a few near showstoppers:||-Lockers are not providing warm air to dry ski boots. Meaning in most cases, the next day you will start the day in wet smelly boots.||-The apartment has no heating radiator, but floor heating. Comforta le, but there is no possibility to dry gloves. Which means wet gloves the next day.||-Closest bakery or supermarket is a 20 min. walk. There are just 2 bakeries anyway in entire Solden... Using your car isn't the best option either: the parking garage below the apartment is so narrow, that you probably won't want to use your car once parked after arrival. Since there is no delivery service provided by the Regina Hotel/Apartment, your breakfast will cost you close to 1 hour every day just to get it.||||If the Regina Hotel/Apartment is able to fix these 3 issues, this apartment would get my...
