Not really sure where to start, I honestly can’t comprehend how this place has 5 star reviews. Maybe it was an off night but my friends and I were bitterly disappointed with the whole experience.
Firstly, the tap water cost 3 euro for a jug which is disgraceful considering the restaurant overlooks a fresh water river. And their bottled water costs 7 euro.
The food was sub par, we received a burnt pizza, a flavourless spaghetti dish with three bang average prawns (those three prawns cost an additional €7.80 on top of the price of the dish). The carbonara dish was okay.
The service was friendly, however, quite cheeky. We clearly said no to an additional bottle of wine and then two minutes later the waiter comes over about to open another one. He also offered us schnapps at the end of the meal which you would presume would be free but they weren’t!
We were left sitting waiting on the bill for over 20 minutes. When I went to find the waiter, all of the workers were having a meeting with their boss. When I asked the group for the bill I was told to wait as the owner was having a meeting during service! I had to approach the group again to demand the bill! Unbelievably poor service.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Solden. I’m 29 years of age and this is the first time I’ve ever left a poor review on...
Read moreI recently dined at this restaurant, and here's my review:
Pros: The restaurant offers a nice atmosphere, even though it can get quite busy and the space is relatively small. Note that if you end up with a less desirable table, your experience might not be as pleasant. The dishes we tried were generally tasty. However, there's an element of luck involved with the selection. We visited twice and found that the pizza and soups were particularly good. The schnitzel was decent but nothing out of the ordinary.
Cons: One drawback is that the tables are quite closely packed together. If you're fortunate enough to secure a good table, all is well. However, if you're seated at a less favorable spot, it can be less enjoyable. During peak hours, the restaurant can get quite loud, which may not be suitable for those seeking a quieter dining experience. It's worth noting that you might have to wait in line, so it's advisable to book in advance, especially during busy times.
Overall, it was a pleasant dinner experience with a nice atmosphere. The value for money is decent, but keep in mind that the quality of your experience might depend on the table you get. Definitely one of the better places for...
Read moreWe had an early dinner at this place. First, professional and kind service. Good English melted with German sentences created the atmosphere you kind of want to feel in Austria. We had a kid’s steak (daughter) - very good quality and well done, trout, which was filleted by the server (wife), wiener snitzel (myself and son). All dish hight quality, well prepared as it should be. Tiramisu made our kids day. Absolutely delicious. I tried. So, good Austrian quality with great service make your meal enjoyable. Highly recommend this place. Value for money is reasonable, not cheap, but not too expensive. They don’t take reservations during high season, so walk ins are welcome. We were relatively early, so we got the table immediately. Good job! Will visit you again.
Review 2: We came back again during our week stay in Sölden and it was again very good. We enjoyed steaks, wiener veal snitzel, soups and deserts. All...
