Just spent our annual skiing week at the Egger Hotel and we wasnt disappointed with our choice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would like to say a big thank you to the owners who provided a free glass of bubble to celebrate our wedding anniversary. |On arrival we were shown to our room and were we would be eating that week.| The room was very spacious and looked on to the mountain. The best view we have ever had at an hotel. This is probably down to the great location of the hotel, which is right next the lift that links to the Saalbach-Hitterglemm ski area and also the night skiing, which I highly recommend.|The only small down fall with our room was the snow cats that went past early in the morning but |but due to the great location this was to be expected and was not an issue for us. |The food in the hotel was very good. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and I had the best scrambled egg I've had in Europe. The evening meal was a 5 course meal with options for vegetarians and again was delicious. We would like to say a big thank you to Zoltan for looking after us and making us ve feel very welcome. |We sadly didn't get to see him on our last morning to leave him a tip and say thank so luckily they do have a tip jar in the restaurant and at reception so we left a €15 tip in there hoping it gets to him. ||The hotel had a swimming pool and spa but we did not use these so can not comment. ||As we drove to Austria from the UK there was a big garage under the hotel which was very handy as we new our car was safe for the week.||The bar was nice and relaxing just missed having a bar person behind the bar on an evening but this is just a personal preference and did not effect the service provided. It was also nice to be able to put all drinks on our room which we paid at the end of the holiday. ||Overall the hotel is good location for lift and town which as a few bars and places to eat. The staff are friendly, the rooms are spacious and cleaned on a daily basis. The food is very good and the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. We definitely would revist if we ever go back to...

Read moreThe hotel is at TOP location. But from our point of view, that is the only thing that might justify the price. The other thing that gives a plus is dinner- truly, there were some good things served 👌. Breakfast was ok. But lunch...that was not ok. The lunch for kids (included in the offer) was from 12:00 till 13:00. And the kids offer was poor to be honest. The kids ate that lunch 3 times (or 2, I don’t really know now) but the last lunch was bad experience. First day we were told that it is necessary to come to the restaurant unitll 13:00 and then the kids lunch is all taken care of. The last time I ordered the lunch for my kids, it was 12:50. They got the soup. And then waited until 1:20. When I (again and again) asked for the main course, the waiter said “the kids lunch is until 1:00”. But i ordered 10 minutes before 13:00!! He said “ok i’m just saying”. That same waiter whispered to my kid that he is a pig!! That same waiter tried to take my breakfast plate before I half ate it and while I was making a phone call. Speaking of staff...pay them more! Putting tipping jars everywhere just doesn’t give the good impression. |When we got there, we got a glass of sekt and the kids a toy. That is really nice! And that was all the “niceness” we got. Upon departure, not even a “thank you have a safe trip”. How much does that cost??|Also, never in the world did we stay and not get our bedding changed. We stayed here 8 nights. The cleaning lady changed just one sheet the last day and only because one of our boys cut his finger and there were 10-12 blood drops. So 4 people, 8 days and only 1 sheet (just a sheet!!!) changed? For the price payed, hmmm...I don’t feel like extra comments. |And as for the staff. Marin (Croatian I believe), Zdenko (not sure Croatian or Bosnian) and Linda, that sweet young lady from Hungary. They are true workers. Cherish and value them. |Remark: the location is God given. But, there are more hotels in Hinterglemm as located as yours. Give us some more reasons...
