Situated parallel to the main street, it's an easy place to find and sits attached to a smart and new-look hotel. The restaurant itself is good looking, with a decent sense of Austrian mountain charm. The menu is likewise, containing a good range of regional classics and a handful of unique options. Staff were courteous, with a good grasp of English and effective in their work. Food is moderately priced and of very good value. We did the XL Ribs and a pork medallion dish, both of which were well cooked and seasoned. The ribs dish was very large and could easily serve as a meal for 2. Pork medallions were flavourful and the accompanying tagliatelle was cooked to al denté, which was a pleasant surprise, however the gorgonzola cheese sauce for the pasta could have done with a much stronger flavour. Desserts were enjoyable, although would need to be uplifted in some way to really compete with the overall bar set in Austria. I'm unsure if they are owned and run by Hotel Salzburg (google searching indicates that they are), but I attempted to make a reservation by email several weeks before arriving, followed up a few times and still didn't receive a response. We ended up walking over there on the day we arrived to make the reservation. Considering the potential language barriers and the fact that we are no longer in the prehistoric age, it seems rather ridiculous to not have responded to my emails whatsoever, even though I had sent the first and follow-up in english and german. Overall I'd say that it would be worth a try and we had no regrets selecting it as one of our 6 restaurants for the trip.

Great Food. Good for lunch after mountain biking since it's right next to the Blue and Pro Line. Getting there from the Hackelberg doesn't require any effort as you only need to drive down the road. From the X-Line it will require a bit more effort. The Bikes can be leaned against the Fence, so you'll always see them if you sit outside and don't have to worry about them getting stolen(unlikely but you never know).

During our week-long stay in Hinterglemm, we had the opportunity to dine at the quaint Restaurang Heurigenstube twice. This restaurant offers a nice blend of friendly service, a relaxed atmosphere, and traditional Austrian cuisine that makes it a worthwhile dining option in the area.

Upon entering Heurigenstube, we were greeted by a welcoming staff that was attentive and made us feel comfortable during our visits. Their congenial service contributed to a pleasant evening and overall dining experience.

The interior of the restaurant is cozy and unpretentious, with simple decorations and furnishings that create a laid-back Austrian ambiance. This casual setting made it easy for us to unwind as we enjoyed our meal.

The menu at Heurigenstube features a selection of authentic Austrian dishes that provide a taste of the region's culinary traditions. While the dishes may not be Michelin-star level, they are satisfying and well-prepared, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to providing enjoyable meals for its guests.

In summary, our experience at Restaurang Heurigenstube in Hinterglemm was a pleasant one. With its friendly service, relaxed atmosphere, and traditional Austrian cuisine, it offers a nice dining option for those visiting the area. We recommend Heurigenstube for a casual meal and would consider returning ourselves...

Rude and disrespectful staff, there are many better restaurants in the area to spend your money on. Edit: I was accused of drinking alcohol from my thermos, after I took one sip of tea from it. There was NO ALCOHOL in there, just tea. Your waiter who lacks basic manners caused the scene in the restaurant and attacked me for no reason! He even got in my face! It is scandalous how he treats women! Even if what I did was a problem for your incompetent waiter, there is a nice way to say it. I even offered him to smell it, to prove it’s just tea, but he refused because he did not want to embarrass himself. I’ve been skiing in Austria for 7 years and never have I ever had a problem because I had thermos with tea, that is completely...
