My wife and I had a mixed experience with this hotel. Our tour group arrived quite late (circa 10pm) and the lady on reception had stayed on to receive the group, however when we reached our room it hadn't been made up from the past guests, there were two empty drink cans in the room, a full bin, one of the toiletries dispensers was on the floor and the bed was unmade. I went back down to reception and was told they had one spare room which we accepted, although it wasn't as spacious as the original room and the bathroom wasn't as good, but as no staff were available to service our original room we took it as we were tired and it was getting late. ||There was no aircon in the room and they provided a fan which ended up breaking and they replaced it the next day. The only way to cool down the room was to open up the windows...fortunately we were round the side of the hotel and there wasn't much outside noise, however we did spot a huge bug on the curtains, which I managed to trap and throw out of the window...not the most relaxing way to arrive after a long journey.||The (second) room was of a decent size with a safe, wardrobe, fridge, although no separate drawers for clothes...we were only there for two nights so largely lived out of the suitcase. The TV on the wall was very small and tea / coffee facilities are NOT included in the rooms. Due to the change of rooms the lady on reception provided a kettle and some coffee sachets.||The hotel breakfast was focused on locally sourced produce, and the hot buffet was pretty decent, but we found it odd that the juice selection had no orange juice (as clearly oranges are not grown locally) and instead there was various root / fruit options, but the dispensers were small and kept running out (we were a large group of 50 so it was hit and miss what was available).||The hotel is located around 2 miles outside of the city, although it is served by a local bus that stops directly opposite the hotel and for which the hotel provides tickets as part of your room rates, so no extra to pay. The staff were very helpful in that regard.||Overall a mixed experience...disappointed our room was not made up, and the change of room late at night was far from ideal, and the lack of aircon was also a frustration given the hot weather at the time. Staff were great and the local bus connections were really helpful. The parking opposite the hotel is free of charge too, so perfect for those accessing the hotel by...
Read moreCharged me €20 for accidentally only booking for one person. Make sure you don’t make the same mistake. Other than that a nice hotel, average size room.
Update (26 September 2019): I had originally reviewed the hotel as 4 stars, which is an average rating for any hotel. I had only mentioned that the 20 Euro charge was incurred, because I did not want any other customers to have the same problem. The hotel management responded to this, saying that I put them in a difficult situation by accidentally doing this, which is understandable and for which I apologised to the man at the front desk for. What I did not expect, was to be chastised by hotel management online simply for mentioning this, so that other guests do not make the same mistake. The hotel is well within its rights to charge me the 20 Euros, I was only advising other customers to not make the same mistake so they wouldn't have to pay the 20 Euros. To say that it was "very inappropriate and absolutely unjustified" shows the reprehensible ways in which this business deals with its customers.
The review is now one star due to this aggression against a customer who originally gave a simple review, rather positive review. One can look at my profile and see that I leave very positive reviews for many businesses, in America and around the world. I am not a foreigner who goes to countries and acts intentionally rude by ANY MEANS, and to insinuate such a thing by responding to me as if I am just leaving a review out of sheer ignorance is DEEPLY offensive.
A hotel is there to provide accommodation to its guests, not to criticise their comments about the experience.
Hope this was a lesson for you in...
Read moreHad such a lovely time here with my partner. Clean room, stocked with everything we needed. The staff were so kind and delightful to talk with in English. I thought it was so kind the bartender offered to bring a whole bucket of ice to our room! We insisted it wasn't necessary. I loved seeing the host cracking jokes with my boyfriend. The little things like that really make a difference! It made us feel so welcome.
Breakfast was lovely as well. Great service, everyone seemed to enjoy their jobs. It's always nice to see the staff smiling and not stressed out.
Don't even get me started on the view!! It was so nice to be outside the city centre and have a better view of the mountains, we spent hours on the balcony. We loved it so much we skipped going out for dinner and had dinner there instead!
It was sooo quiet as well! No disturbances at all.
Having the option to change the TV to English took a little bit but very grateful for that option.
The fan in our room was the perfect touch too. It was so hot when we visited so we really appreciated that. I would prefer to have air conditioning but we're in Europe! You have to suck it up a bit and enjoy the full experience.
Thanks for an...
