The worst restaurant ever! Ruined my whole trip in Salzburg. Well, I have made a reservation via their email address. In about half an hour I’ve received a confirmation where my reservation was confirmed. So I thought that a birthday surprise for my lovely girlfriend was partially ready a part from the main gift. The next day when we came to restaurant the hostess or whoever this woman was said that they have never received our reservation. Well, I had that confirmation with me and I’ve showed it to her. So she left without saying anything. In about 10 minutes some of their workers comes to us and says that international guest are not welcomed here and that we have to leave the restaurant immediately. When I’ve asked him to explain me in English why they are not letting us in, because we have a reservation for today and there is a plenty of space. His answer was that they won’t talk to me in English, because it is Austria and they speak German only. After no explanation he started to push me and my girlfriend to the exit. WTH!! At the end of the day it’s called the Austrian hospitality. Ruined my girlfriends birthday and the...
Read moreIf you appreciate good quality Asian food; don't go here. The moment I saw it was an all-you-can-eat buffet I should have known to about-face and leave; but I was tired after a long drive and this was the third restaurant I'd tried. The sushi was poor: badly prepared rice and fillings, drowned in weird, oozing sauces; with the strangest looking wasabi I have ever seen (watery, almost blue and probably 0% wasabi content). The selection of ingredients you could take to the kitchen to be stir-fried was varied and this at least was passable; but the deep-fried offerings were dreadful and unappetising: I couldn't bring myself to finish what I had taken. The service was fairly poor. There was no real attempt to explain the buffet set-up; it was just assumed you understood. This is the sort of place that keeps afloat from passing tourist trade and those people with no understanding of quality who just want to gorge themselves on mediocre food. ...
Read moreShiso (world of asia) left me with opposite feelings. On one side, an all you can eat oriental restaurant organized not (only) as a buffet but with table service was missing. Moreover the food taste was really good, and the choice was different respect than all the others in salzburg. On the other side, however, there was a problem with the service: it is quite slow from both the ordering and the preparation point of view, and considering that portions are small (which would not a big deal if you think it's an "all you can eat" restaurant) the risk is to eat just a couple of dishes before the kitchen closes, unless you order everything you want at once, which may be not a smart choice for someone. Overall is a good place, and probably the service problems will be better with time, experience and a higher number of employees. I will give Shiso another chance, maybe not on saturday evening, but in a much...
