The Hotel Rosenvilla surpassed my expectations. I only stayed two nights and I really hated to leave. As you can see from the many mentions in these reviews, the breakfast is phenomenal. There are a variety of special local items, plus cooked to order eggs. Weather permitting, the outside dining area is a beautiful and relaxing setting to start your day. My room was very comfortably laid out, including a generous balcony overlooking the garden and koi pond. All the fixtures and furnishings are quality, in perfect repair, and spotless. The amenities are well done... Robes/slippers, expresso machine, electric blinds, mini bar with a nice selection of glasses. Everything to make you feel comfortable and a bit pampered, including top notch service from every staff member. The only small sacrifice, it's a short but pleasant 10 minutes walk to the Altstadt, or a quick bus ride. It is, however, more quiet than an Altstadt location. All in all, a great experience for a fair price. It's definitely my Salzburg go-to in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here in September. It's a very nice up to date boutique hotel. Its about a 10 min bus ride to the train station. The place itself doesn't have an elevator, but they do bring your luggage up to your room. The rooms are up to date with everything. I loved my single room. Bathroom is smaller for my taste, but it was doable. Their breakfast spread was very nice and a lot of selection. The front desk agents were superb ! Very helpful in every detailed. They do have you a voucher bus pass thar goes throughout salzburg which is helpful! They also offer a taxis time pick up and drop off at to the train station as ubers are not as reliable from experience. At night the place is well lit and safe. I would stay here again!

The most I like and love in the hotel is the staff. They are very friendly. Whenever I have any questions or issues, they immediately helped me and answered me. Also, when I asked for kids activities, they provided me all required help such as maps, advices, transportation tickets and schedules … etc. I love their offerings bicycles per hour and you will enjoy the riding around the area. They have daily special dessert cooked by them, it is very delicious. Just a minor thing, if people cannot sleep without AC, they will suffer little bit in the hotel, because there is no AC. But, the hotel provides electric fan for each room. Overall our stay was excellent. Thank You very much Christopher for all support and your entire team.

We stayed for 3 nights in a first floor room with balcony. ||||Staff very pleasant and friendly, always welcoming and the hotel is open to 9:30 after which you use your key to get in.||||Bed was comfy, I love the Austrian 2x single duvet option on a double bed, it's ingenious. We stayed for 3 nights in a first floor room with balcony.

Staff very pleasant and friendly, always welcoming and the hotel is open to 9:30 after which you use your key to get in.

Bed was comfy, I love the Austrian 2x single duvet option on a double bed, it's ingenious. Slept well in comfort (caveat - I travel with facemask and earplugs) Room was spacious. The bathroom has a toilet separated with a slide door from the rest of the bathroom rather than an all in one like you can see sometimes. Shower had good pressure and pleasant temperature. The room also had a couple of reading chairs and a desk to offer flexibility and a good size TV in line with the bed.

Staff really have attention to detail, we got some wine from a supermarket when out and left it in the room and they brought us glasses without asking.

The bath had a jacuzzi option but we didn't use it.

My only negative thoughts on the room:

I would suggest to the hotel that a bar or non-slip mat might be useful as you're stepping out the bath onto a tiled floor and only have the towel rail on your left or the bath to grab if you do wobble as the only other option is the glass splash protector

Options on pillows would be useful (maybe a question on booking?) - we didn't ask so maybe it was an option but I like a firm pillow, the 2 provided were pretty soft and floppy

I would like a kettle in the room but the machine downstairs is always available - just means you have to get showered or at least dressed to get any, I prefer to get out of bed and have some coffee before going down.

Breakfast

Plenty of options - bread and bagels, cakes and sweets plus cold meats, cheese etc + fruit, freshly poured smoothie and juice, cereals. We had maybe 20 minutes each day there, taking time and enjoying the food

Located about 20 minutes walk from Old Town, Rosenvilla benefits from free parking and not having to navigate the city traffic. ||Staff were friendly and helpful both before and during our stay.||We didn’t realise at the time of booking, but Rosenvilla is part of the same group as Hotel Rathaus in Vienna which we stayed at several years ago. Both hotels have a lovely boutique feel to them.||Our room on the second room was a ‘Comfort’ class room which was well laid out and had wireless phone chargers in the bedside table - a nice feature! Being on the upper floor it did mean we needed to remember to duck our heads when getting in/out of bed as the ceiling followed the roofline.||We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel (instead we went to a local bakery around 10 mins walk away), so can’t comment on that. I did pop my head into the restaurant in the morning and it looked like a nice setup though.||Definitely recommend Hotel Rosenvilla if you’re visiting Salzburg. It’s far enough out of town to be quiet at night and close enough to walk (or get bus number 7) into the city to see the sights...
