Haven Alpendorf — Hotel in Sankt Johann im Pongau

Wow! Simply one of the best places that I have stayed in Austria and in the top 5% of places to eat/stay in Alpendorf. Haven simply has it all right- A modern and humanist approach to service which makes guests feel welcome- nothing is too much trouble, you are treated as a human being rather than just another tourist: The service is highly personalised both in the restaurant and the accommodation.

The entire building is stunning, spotlessly clean and cosy. The apartments are gorgeous, well insulated from noise and furnished with the highest quality items: Everything from the cutlery in the kitchen to the beds are top notch.

The infinity pool is a peaceful and relaxing space- its incredible to be in the warm water taking in your surroundings. Follow this with a truly pampering session in the Sauna Landscape comprising of three different saunas, a steam room and a vast area of couches complemented by intriguing books to read with a cup of herbal tea.

But for me the highlight has to be the Deck 7 Restaurant- Its truly a stunning place to be and an incredible design, topping some of the best restaurants that I have visited in London! The restaurant enclosed by glass on both sides allows full views over the hills and up the slope. Eating dinner whilst watching the slopes being prepared out the window by the piste-bashers for the following morning was awesome. Equally was watching the clouds lift over the mountains whilst enjoying breakfast in the mornings.

I cannot wait to be sitting on the terrace this summer, watching the sun set over the legendary Salzach Valley with a glass of something nice, letting all my worries run free. This is truly Haven and I'll...

The hotel was spotless - so were the rooms. The interior was of very high quality and the ambiance calming. The apartment offered plenty of space and natural daylight from plenty of windows and balconies (we had two). The pool was directly underneath our room which meant most of the time there was a noise coming from a pump or similar which was a low constant humming sound - our little boy didn’t mind (he was sleeping on the very comfy sofa bed) so we didn’t either. The pool was a treat - lovely warm temperature and big enough so you could swim a few lengths if you wanted. There was a bench in the water with water-jets you could turn on if you wanted. We can’t speak for the restaurant or breakfast bc we didn’t use those service. However, we ordered Brötchen Service for our last morning which worked fine and the rolls were nice (and bigger than you think ;) The robes in the room for using the Spa and pool area where a nice touch and our little 5 year old enjoyed his to the max. The members of staff were all so nice and friendly always offering help/advice if needed. Thanks to the hotel we also made use of the free vouchers for the Gondelbahn next door and enjoyed a nice half day up on the mountain (Geisterberg). As a little departure gift we got a small jar of homemade jam :) what a treat. We would definitely recommend this hotel and also go there...

The team at Haven are amazing, the hotel is perfectly located for ski in ski out, about 30 seconds walk to the chair lift. The hotel is modern and contemporary but maintains the Austrian ski lodge vibe, combining modern 5 star with authentic Austrian exceptionally well. |The Spa and outside heated infinity pool are both stunning and great to come home to after skiing. |Spa has a very large Sauna, Steam Room and 2 infra red heated relaxation rooms along with huge day beds to relax on.|Deck 7 serves breakfast which is Buffett and table ordering for hot dishes, all totally delicious. They have an all day menu of Pizza, Pasta, Salads, Burgers and Grills and then have an evening menu, we ate there 5 times and had fantastic meals every-time. |New Year’s Eve was a Great Gatsby Party, 5 course meal with fireworks and champagne at midnight and a live DJ and party into the morning.A big thank you to all the Deck 7 team who made the night and seemed to have almost as much fun as us. |We’ve visited this hotel 3 times already in the last two years, recommended to several groups of friend and would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting the most amazing time, families, couples or friends, this hotel has something for everyone. |Thank you again for another...
