Stayed here as part of a package deal with Crystal Ski. Crystal only started to offer trips to Serfaus in the 2019 ski season. We looked at the resort info and it looked good so decided to go for it. I think Crystal were 'testing the viability' of Serfaus as a resort as they only seemed to have a very small number of rooms available in only a couple of hotels. We were lucky enough to get booked into Haus Komperdell. I had searched TripAdvisor for reviews on this hotel, but could only find some from 2015 which were not very complimentary. However I think that may be because the hotel may be listed under more than one name ( eg Hotel Komperdell, Komperdell, Haus Komperdell).||Anyway, after a horrendous 2 day trip due to the very heavy snowfall in early Jan 19, we eventually arrived at Haus Komperdell a day later than scheduled. On arrival the lady at reception was really friendly and helpful. She got us booked in quickly, then showed us around dining room, ski boot room, ski locker, sauna and Pool. The hotel is typical Austrian Tyrol mode of decor, so if you are looking for somewhere that looks like an Ikea showroom with garish colours and furniture with spindly legs that stick out at odd angles and make tables look like they will not support the weight of a dinner plate, then you may not appreciate the traditional decor here.||We took the lift up to the first floor where our room was located. On entry the room was warm and spacious. There were Austrian twin beds that were very comfortable, a flat screen tv (no English channels apart from CNBC, which is not really relaxing viewing), but we were there to ski, not watch tv, so no real problem there. There was a large seperate bathroom with twin sinks, toilet, bath and shower over bath and there seemed to be a good supply of hot water, Ample storage for clothes etc in room and the free wifi worked very well.||The hotel was very quiet when we were there, probably as it was so early in the season. We were on a half board package, so we got breakfast and evening meal as part of the package. Breakfast was usual offering of continental fare, but the kitchen will serve freshly cooked bacon and eggs if requested at no additional charge. Your choice of dinner had to be made at breakfast time from the small list of options (this only applies if you are half board obviously) I have to say I think the food here was probably the best we have had in any half board hotel in Austria (and we have stayed in a lot!). The restaurant staff were great also, very friendly and helpful and much appreciated as I can't speak Austrian or German. There are 2 supermarkets within a couple of hundred mtrs of the hotel and lots of bars/restaurants if you want to eat/drink away from the hotel. Serfaus is a family oriented resort, so night life is more on the quiet side, which suited us fine. As a guide, expect to pay between 4-5 euro for a large beer, about 3.5 euro for coffee, 4.5 euro for gluhwein and about 13 euro for a pizza (2019 prices). ||Overall we were very happy with our stay at Haus Komperdell and we would love to go back again if Crystal Ski offer the package next season.||Additional info for skiers:||The hotel provides heated boot racks and a secure ski locker room in the basement. Skis/boots can be left at one of the depots at the lift stations, but in our opinion there was no advantage in paying the storage costs for that service due to the hotel location and the services provided. Serfaus has a mainly pedestrian centre but there is a fantastic free to use underground railway that runs from one end of town to the other end of town where the lifts are located. Trains run all day at about 10 min intervals (check the resort website for info on how the stop order changes through the day), Haus Komperdell is about 100m from the 'Central' stop, which is only one stop away from the Lift station. When leaving the hotel, turn left, walk about 100m and you will find the 'Central' underground station behind and under the Bank Building Easily achievable wearing ski boots and carrying skis. Once on the train, the trip takes under 2 mins to reach the end of the line station at the ski lifts.||The hotel can provide you with a 'Guest Card' which will entitle you to a 10% reduction on your lift pass purchase. You will need to take ID with you when using the Guest Card to claim your discount.||The Serfaus/Fiss/Ladis ski area is fairly large, with a good modern lift system. There are challenges for all abilities and lots of off piste opportunities (Avalanche conditions permitting). We did not experience long lift queues when were there in early Jan, but I don't know if that would still be the case in high season||Overall a great resort that we would love...
Read moreI stayed there with ten friends last January for the second time in a row and for the third time in Serfaus. Serfaus is the perfect ski holiday. Fine accomodations, perfect ski services and good apres ski and restaurants. ||||We stayed in two appartments and these are oke. The beds are a little bit short for larger people but everything is neat and clean. Breakfast is oke. No special things just the regular stuff. The pool is small but refreshing in the morning. ||||The hotel is nearby the metro that brings you to the ski center and if you want to walk it takes you about 10 minutes. You may not use your car during your stay!!!||||Use the ski services as well!! Leave your skies and shoes at the center at the end of the day. It will cost you a couple of euros extra but you don't have tot carry all your stuff in the morning and in the afternoon....
Read moreMy family and I stayed here the first week of January 2019 and its a great hotel. The location in Serfaus is fantastic and the facilities at the hotel plenty enough for our needs.||It's a typical rustic tyrolean affair with lots of wood, comfortable bedrooms, great evening food and lovely staff.||Two of who in particular stood out for their helpfulness and skills of their jobs. They are Mirabella Manahl the manager who went way beyond her roles responsibilities to try and clear up the mess Crystal Ski Holidays had left us in and Katja Piening who made breakfast and meal times a great experience. Katja has a fantastic attitude to guests and we greatly enjoyed and appreciated her as our table host and her help in learning a little German.||Mirabella you have a great hotel and I would definitely...
