We had a two night stay in this hotel. It was not to our satisfactory. I got the feeling they got us in a lesser room then the executive room we booked. After mentioning this the lady at the desk was very nice and let us choose an other room. The rooms are very nice althoughhe floor is a fake plastic wood design but looks great to be honest. The bathroom has fake ceramic tiles that give the impression to be real marble. We have marble at home and I was given a quarry tour in Spain where we bought ours. The tiles do look nice. Did like the look of the bathroom. It kind of felt all a bit too Disney to me. Our room was very noisy because of the door between the rooms. I couldn't sleep since our neighbors had the tv on on low volume. During Corona time they didn't seem to care much for our safety. Some employee wore masks others were not. One was even wearing it under his nose. This came across as less disciplined. At that time it wasn't mandatory to wear face mask in Austria. However any shop or public space would require you to wear a mask. The other hotels we went did wear and were more 'German disciplined'. The lunch facilities we not close to what I'm expecting from a 4 star hotel. I've seen 2 start hotels doing a better job giving the premium experience. The hotel has a very rice interior but the service lacks behind somehow. No room service because of coronavirus, which seems odd to me. So no mask since it's not mandatory but no room service because of coronavirus? Didn't like the 28 euro a night for public parking garage either. I was glad to leave.

We were in a executive room and faced few issues - the balcony window is hard to close completely (about time for regulation...). If the window is not closed fully, the air-condition does not work. It was 32 deg Celcius outside. During short stay (2 nights) we experienced really bad smell from the sink in bathroom. It should not be like that in this type of room. And we figured why, the cleaning service was almost closing the drain in the sink - so when you enter the room you would not feel this smell immediately. The room was nice, sheets clean, bed big, but the window issues and smell in bathroom - 4/5 stars. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. Although you got a wide selection of products, some of them should be served in small packages. The ketchup or honey or jam were in containers and and it was terrible when a large number of guests soiled the spoon, the product, the table around these products. Sticky and dirty. Instead you should have ketchup, jam, honey, butter, etc. in small packages. I will not be convinced by any arguments about unnecessary garbage (used small packages) when foreign kids tinker with the containers from which I should take the product to eat. Hygiene! The restaurant/coffee place for a dinner was OK. Friendly waiter, ok schnitzel. Public parking is really close to hotel, you can take an elevator from parking to hotel. Location is great if you want to experience the park, ZOO, etc.

When you first walk into the hotel, you immediately notice the pleasant smell. The personnel is friendly and they do allow early check-in (noon and onwards) if you're lucky. Although I typically prefer a more modern room, as far as classic rooms go, this is the crème de la crème. The bathrooms are modern, although the layout can be a bit inconvenient: the shower and sink are in one room and the toilet in a separate room, which means you can't wash your hands right after using the toilet and must first touch multiple doorknobs before you can. Not very hygienic in that sense. If you imagined you were going to stay in the beautiful palatial part of the hotel, you want to go for one of the more luxurious suites, because the ordinary rooms are in different buildings surrounding a courtyard behind the building. The breakfast is excellent. There's a wide variety of sliced meat and cheese, pastries, cakes, jams, eggs (scrambled, boiled), sausages and bacon. Additionally, you can also have fried eggs, waffles and omelettes made to order. Do note that the breakfast staff speaks barely any English, so prepare words like spiegelei (Fried egg) to bridge the divide.

My husband and I stayed here for our one year wedding anniversary and 10 year anniversary together and we’re greatly looking forward to this highly rated hotel. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the ratings it received.

The good: Check in was friendly and we were given our room immediately. Rooms were spacious. Good location next to public transport, zoo, and palace.

We were first put in a room on the 3rd floor. When we walked in there was a stench in the room coming from the bathroom. It was quite unpleasant but that was the only thing wrong so far. Then when trying to go to bed and sleep we found out how horrible soundproofing was (even with ear plugs) as we could hear running and thumping all hours. Power went out in the middle of the night and fan nor ac would work and we were uncomfortable sleeping. My one condition for booking hotels was functioning AC. Then, to make matters worse, while shower pressure was good, hot water was not consistent. Rooms weren’t super clean. Walls are dirty and need a paint job, mini fridge was kind of grubby.

The following morning we went to reception to let them know our concerns. They were apologetic and upgraded our room but we would have to pack all our stuff again and staff would move it. Not a huge deal, we were happy to get an upgrade.

Later that evening we arrived at our room. It was so large and nice and we tried the heating system for the fan (they turn off ac for environmental reasons at a certain temperature)… yet again it did not work. We called and the manager came to our room to tell us that floors 1 and 3 (the floors we were on) had problems with their units and we’re not working. It would be fixed tomorrow or we could move the the 4th floor. We had JUST moved and unpacked and did not want to move again so we toughed it out with windows open. We asked for a fan but they never provided one.

The next day, surprise surprise, the ac/heat/fan were not working. We got back to the hotel at around 11 pm so it was not worth fighting over.

They must have known we were not happy because they just asked for payment upon check out and did not ask about our stay.

Spend your money elsewhere if you want consistency. We loved Vienna but this ruined our comfort and sleep for the end...

We stayed here for 4 nights including breakfast each morning. |Positive points first: The rooms are good and the beds are very comfortable. The staff at the reception and breakfast was very friendly. The food at breakfast is tasty and varied.|The bar has various drinks, also some lovely cocktails. The hotel is located near a U-bahn (subway) station and also near Schloss|Schönbrunn. ||Yet, unfortunately, the hotel has some minus points too. We had no separate shower, so we needed to shower in the bath. |After the first night we took a drink to our room and they did not clean it up. Same for a glass in the bathroom which hasn't been changed during our stay. They also did not empty our trash cans. |You get two cards (keys) to unlock your room, we mostly left one card in the hotel room (to have electricity for charging phones etc). But suddenly the second card did not work anymore. |We asked the house keeping (who was busy at our floor to open the door for us. |That same afternoon we came back to our rooms but they did not clean it. Our family members were in the room next to ours, they had left some tip money for the housekeeping. Their room wasn't cleaned as well, but the tip was taken. We reported this to the reception and after we came back from dinner in the city, our rooms were cleaned indeed.||We could still use the (broken) card to power the room so we left that one and used the other card to enter our room. |But after the fourth day, our room was cleaned , but second card was not in the power supply anymore. Coincidentally the housekeeping was cleaning the room of our family members, so we asked if she knew where the card was, but she did not know.|This was all very strange.||It's not a bad hotel but leaving with mixed feelings after the "key card" experience and the cleaning of the rooms. That doesn't fit a 4* hotel...
