Disappointing Experience at Hotel FARS – Poor Customer Service & GDPR Concerns
I recently stayed at Hotel FARS, expecting a level of professionalism and hospitality in line with its reputation. Unfortunately, my experience was quite the opposite. Upon check-in, I was treated unprofessionally and with a surprising lack of maturity by the reception staff.
Despite being a regular guest who usually enters through higher authority protocols, this time I checked in casually with my partner. When asked to present ID, I showed my National ID (NID) on my phone, which is legally valid and commonly accepted in most professional establishments today. However, the receptionist insisted I share my personal details via WhatsApp or email — a clear red flag concerning data protection. When I inquired about their GDPR or local data privacy policy to understand how my personal data would be stored or protected, I was flatly denied access to any such documentation.
While another gentleman, likely a supervisor, engaged us politely, he unfortunately added little clarity or assurance. Instead of addressing the concern, he continued to offer vague explanations that failed to justify their data handling procedures or offer any meaningful solution.
As a customer, I have the right to know how my data is being handled and stored, and any legitimate business must be able to provide such information upon request. Asking guests to send sensitive personal information over unsecured platforms like WhatsApp or email, without a clear privacy policy or consent mechanism in place, is not only unprofessional but may constitute a serious violation of data protection laws.
Overall, this experience fell far below expectations. I hope Hotel FARS takes this feedback seriously and invests in staff training and data privacy compliance to ensure a more respectful and secure experience for...

The staff downstairs were awkward, and the ones in the restaurant itself weren't cordial or welcoming at all. I had to ask 3 different people for the menu and no one answered back. However, after my complaint one of the young and new waiters apologized and ensured I receive a good service.
I didn't order much - just a butter chicken and paratha. It took almost 40 mins to serve them due to some gas issue in the kitchen.
However, the food was surprisingly delicious. Kudos to the chef! It was served hot and in generous portions that felt like a bang for your buck at first, but then the added service charge ruins that positive element. I'd rather tip the nice waiter than pay the restaurant owners extra with a service charge that they will never share with the waiters that deserve them. Also, the price of food and service doesnt go with the area that this hotel and restaurant is situated in. The decor is also outdated and drab.
To sum up, kudos to the chef and that one nice waiter who served me food. And boo to the owners for being greedy. I'd visit again but would probably go for the buffet instead.
At best, this is a 3-star hotel. Needs more work if they want it to be called...
