Hotel Grand Circle Inn — Hotel in Dhaka Metropolitan

I’ve stayed at Grant Circle Inn a few times before and always found it to be a decent, budget-friendly hotel. The room rate, including breakfast, usually ranges between 3000-3500 BDT, which is quite reasonable for mid-range travelers.

In the past, I had good experiences here, especially with their rooftop BBQ offer – it was only 599 BDT for two people, and I really enjoyed the ambiance up there. However, during my recent visit, I noticed a decline in service quality, particularly in the restaurant.

The dining experience was disappointing. I had to wait almost an hour for food, and even then, they served the wrong items. The staff at the restaurant seemed unprofessional, and the long wait made me feel quite uncomfortable. Their buffet breakfast also felt average and didn’t meet expectations. Lunch wasn’t impressive either.

I stayed at this property during December 28-31, 2023 with family. The location of the property was very convenient. It is just 0.5 km away for Kamalapur rail station, which is the main rail station of Dhaka. One can reach most of the tourist places and markets of Dhaka easily from this hotel. The hotel is having a restaurant at the top floor, which serves delicious food. The 'Doi-ilish', which was served to us, was the best Hilsa preparation I ever had in my life. I was amazed to have such a premium quality of Hilsa in the month of December, which is usually not the season of Hilsa. One can enjoy a good view of Dhaka city from the restaurant. The behavior of hotel staffs was very pleasant. They all were co-operative. On the day of Departure, they prepared breakfast for us even in very early morning after knowing that we would depart very early in the morning for Kolkata. A decent experience. The room was nice, cozy and spacious for a family to stay. Basic amenities of the room are available like air conditioner, flat TV, refrigerator, geyser, washroom with properly maintained hygiene and other necessities. Complementary buffet breakfast was very good with varieties of breakfast options. My room had one issue about air conditioner not working properly sometimes. And the basket of some snacks, which was provided in the room, had items with overpriced tag more than the MRP, it shouldn't be like that. Apart from some issues, it was a good experience.
