My husband and I stayed at Cobia Beach Guesthouse in June of this year, and we loved it so much that we decided to go back with the kids in November. The owners are amazing and easy to work with. The property manager, Lorrenie, made our experience feel very personalized. The owners gave us a list of locals who they recommend for different tours and excursions, so planning everything was very easy. The locals were all very friendly and welcoming, the cabins were clean and well-stocked with most essentials, and the view was beautiful! The property has 2 separate cabins, but there are enough beds to sleep 12. There are 3 1/2 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, a full kitchen, dining room table, 2 kitchenettes, and 2 large porches. It was amazing to be able to walk off our porch right onto the beach. We slept with the windows open most nights and enjoyed the sound of the waves crashing and the ocean breeze blowing through the cabin while we slept. Hopkins is a two hour drive from the airport in Belize City (there are multiple options for traveling down from Belize City--we rented a car), but once you're in Hopkins, everything in the village is within walking distance. You can also rent golf carts to get around the village. The local cuisine is AMAZING. I will forever go back to Cobia Beach Guesthouse, rather than stay in a resort because of the amazing experiences we had when...
Read moreSpent a week here and had an excellent time! From waking up listening to the waves, sitting on the large porch having coffee watching the sunrise, relaxing in the hammocks it was a great experience. Walking distance to the grocery store and many restaurants was a bonus as well. Everybody there was so nice, friendly, and helpful makes you feel like you are at home. We caught a Barracuda, and a Cobia which was really cool. We also went snorkeling and saw 2 Sting Rays, and a large Sea Turtle it was such an great time! We hiked up a waterfall in the rain forest which was also a cool experience. Thanks for all the great experiences and memories, can't...
Read moreThe first thing I noticed when I walked in was a nice cute place. Our’s was pink, the sister one is Caribbean green. The Caribbean color only goes so far. After you spend a little time, in no Particular order, there’s no Kleenex, no amenities like a decent size bar of soap no paper towels no garbage bags. We decided to cook one night hardly any pots and pans, wine out of a plastic cup. No condiments no oils had to go buy everything. I’m like really for $2000 a week. The neighbor unit had a party and left all their garbage that we had to pick up. Garbage and dog poop in the front beach. And to the top it off, cockroaches. The size of a table...
