The staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful. The maid service was excellent and if you were locked out of your room, the staff came and opened the door for you in a very cordial manner. The location is good and a short easy walk to eating areas and other places that we were visiting. The restaurant had a complimentary breakfast which was the same thing every day(scrambled eggs that were runny, fruit, ham & cheese, & a good assortment of breads. Would of been nice to have a little variety some days since we stayed there for 10 days. The menu for lunch & dinner is very minimal and the chicken & hamburgers are bought and brought in from another restaurant across the street. The restaurant staff are very helpful and nice. The rooms are in need of an update--the carpet is dirty and looks like it has been wet and rolls up, the pillows are not comfortable and the mattress is very hard. I was unable to sleep due to all the noice outside. There is radiator heat and after turning it off we still were hot and opened a window. We then had cool air, but the traffic was atrocious!! I don't think I would want to stay at this hotel again unless some much needed...
Read moreThe worst hotel I’ve stayed in since I started travelling in July 2019. We had not planned to stay in La Paz , the flight we were on to Cusco had to return to La Paz because of a problem with the plane. The airline had to put us up in a hotel and they chose Eldorado Hotel. The furnishing are old and outdated, the plumbing needs replacing, water pressure in the shower was not good. The towels we were given were white at some point and were now a offwhite colour and old. ||||The worst part of our stay was the breakfast. The dining room reeked of gas that gave us all headaches , the lady serving us said she was aware of the gas smell. There were tables laid with green linen serviettes and cutlery but those tables were not for us as advised by the lady in the dining room, we were directed to tables with terrible blanket like placemats. She then brought us a basket of bread rolls and cold toast. The coffee was like mud and did not even change colour when milk was added to it. There was a fruit basket with black mushy bananas, I could not believe that those bananas were put out for guests to eat.||||The only saving grace for this hotel was it’s location , 10/10...
Read moreThis hotel is located in the nice and safe area of Sopocachi, La Paz. The building is on a busy downtown street, near the Paseo del Prado. It is about a 10-minute walk to the main square. There is 24-hour reception available. Staff was very friendly. They arrnaged breakfast and an early morning taxi to the airport for me at 4am. ||However, I laugh at a 3-star rating! The rooms and bathrooms are VERY dated. The bed and pillows were so lumpy and uncomfortable that I wasn't able to sleep. The bathroom looked like it was from the 1970s, and I wasn't able to get hot water to bathe. There is free Wi-Fi and cable TV, as well as complimentary breakfast. I wouldn't...
