I won't comment on the hotel directly because we never had the chance to get there. The day before our arrival, we asked the hotel if we could arrive the same day (so a day before what was planned). They told us we could and that they were waiting for us. One hour after (!!!) I am asked by WhatsApp the day of my departure. I've already tell it but repeat it without worrying. I then received a message saying that they did not have any availaibility not only for the extra night (we were already on the road so It was already disappointing) but also for the FIVE OTHER NIGHTS we booked MONTHS ago because a lot of rooms were in maintenance (what were you waiting for before telling us ?!!!).

They told me we could go to another hotel for the same type of room and same price. Talking with that hotel, they were not aware of that deal and said they could not lower their price. I had to contact El Rey Palace again in order to ask them to find a solution because we were on our way to La Paz.

They left me on "read" for two hours before saying everything was okay and we could go to the New hotel. We had to contact the agency for the car we rented to change the meeting point to give back the car (because we told the agency we could meet at El Rey Palace directly) and contact the agency with which we booked two tours in order to change the bus journey (it was supposed to pick us up in front of our hotel)

Very unprofesional. Do...

We had a confirmed booking weeks before arriving. When we got to the hotel exhausted from traveling, they said a technical glitch had double booked our room, and they didn’t have any capacity. They switched us to a sister hotel, saying we had the same kind of room (we had paid for a suite with a king bed). When we arrived to the other hotel, they checked us into a small room with a single twin bed. The new hotel said that El Rey Palace hadn’t designated the type of room at all, and there were no other rooms available. The new hotel called El Rey, but all they did was yell over the phone that it wasn’t their problem and hang up. That night my wife and I shared a twin bed.

For the hassle, lying to us, and not helping to fix at all, this place...

This hotel feels old is very run down. We stayed 2 nights in different rooms. The first room the heating didn’t work but they gave us a plug in heater. The toilet seat was like a foam plastic that slipped into the toilet everyone you sat on it. The second room had mould and paint coming off. Could hear all the noises from the other rooms. The place where you eat breakfast has a massive hole in the roof from water damage that they tired to cover with paper. They however let us park our car in there very small garage.

Average cheap hotel. Rooms are good size, beds are comfortable if you like a firm mattress, breakfast is very good. But on the downside hotel water is almost nonexistent, corridors and lift doudy and dark. This place is very dated, so only pick it if you are on a budget and need a cheap place for a night.

This is a nice medium priced option in la paz city. Is located on the city's center, rooms are nice and big vintage and they all have nice heating and the breakfasts are really nice, kitchen is not available all day, they have good wifi.
