Honestly a standout hotel - best I've stayed in in a looooong time. The staff are so so friendly and will go out of their way to help you. I was fortunate enough to be able to check-in at 6am when my bus arrived, and they allowed us to get breakfast and coffee as well that morning even though we weren't due to check-in until 1pm (not saying they will always be able to do this, depending on availability, but it was so nice of them). They also let us borrow a gondola pass to save us having to buy tickets for the gondolas. The rooms felt quite luxurious, and the breakfast had something for everyone. Free tea, coffee, coca tea and water 24/7. After coming back from death road, our shoes were soaking wet, so they put the fire on for us and let us dry our shoes out by the fire overnight. Upon checkout, they organised a very well priced taxi for us to the airport. Honestly, they couldn't have done more for us. The best staff, the best hotel, and a super nice building with all the old museum stuff kept in tact on the walls. 10/10, would actually come back to La Paz just...
Read moreI loved my three-night stay in early August 2023. The hotel is well located near the Sopocachi Market and various services, shops, and dining options. I enjoyed strolling the neighborhood. The building is spotless and attractive, with well-chosen art. Breakfast is delicious and tastefully served. The staff is kind and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable.
It is a great value, but as a consequence, there are certain trade-offs. Rooms are heated only by space heater, and heat (extremely necessary in La Paz) in the public spaces is so-so. Be prepared and you'll be fine. Rooms are somewhat bland compared with the public spaces. A desk in the room would be helpful. But I'm just picking nits here. I definitely got my money's worth at about $35 US per...
Read moreWe enjoyed our stay here. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. The first room we were given had a sink tap that wasn't working properly and we were given another room promptly - which was comfortable and satisfactory.|We had to deal with BoA for a flight refund - which required a request letter being submitted in Spanish. Gladys the receptionist went beyond the call of duty to draft the letter for us, in addition to helping us make copies of documents that BoA wanted.|Hot beverages were available at any time which was much appreciated.| Be warned that there are 2 flights of about 15 steps each going up to the entrance/reception - with La Paz being at altitude, even without any mobility/health issues, we were breathless each...
