Hotel Puerta del Rey Ltda. — Hotel in Santa Cruz de la Sierra

We had reservations for four rooms and when we got there the hotel Manager invented some story about trouble that other guests had with a so called police and since they lost their money and passports, they could'nt leave the hotel. To make a long story short they sent us to a "similar" place that was an aparthotel, dirty, no service with luggage, no breakfast. At that time we realized that we were being charged for a four star hotel and have a filthy place instead. We did not book this hotel but got transferred here with the sumit this weekend. It seemed ok but turned out to be bad. The photo shows it isolated but it is at the corner of a five way intersection and is very noisy. Plus we had birds tap dancing in the ceiling. Breakfast was very stale. And the hot water broke so cold showers were the kicker. We complained and the staff said the birds were just doves, and did nothing about that noise. They started fixing the water but after waiting an hour we took cold showers and asked if we could get a refrund for the next night...

Cleaning is great, the pool is always clean. Breakfast is not bad but it could be better. I was there a couple of times for business, Wifi is good but last time I was there, signal was not good for the 3rd floor. The manager is always nice with everyone. There's no elevators in the hotel but the personal is always willing to help if you ask. They recently added modern TVs, air in the room...
