Avoid at All Costs — Unfinished, Unsanitary, and Uninhabitable
Our stay at Uyuni Hotel was deeply disappointing. Upon arrival, we couldn’t locate our room because it was still under construction. Once inside, we were met with freezing temperatures, an unfinished shower, and shockingly filthy bedding — including visible fecal matter, blood stains, and genital hair. Even after requesting fresh linens, the replacements were also dirty.
Exhausted, we had no choice but to sleep. The next morning, the "new wing" was so cold we could see our breath. We discovered blood spray on the bathroom wall, incomplete flooring, and an entirely unfinished room in our three-room suite.
While the lobby is visually appealing, the hotel’s priorities are clearly misplaced. Cleanliness, guest comfort, and completing construction should come before renting out rooms. Until then, I strongly recommend...
Read moreVegetarians beware. We reminded reception that my wife was a vegetarian (in case the message hadn’t got thru from the tour co.). No problem was the reply. Until she was given chicken soup at dinner. No other choice available. Next night it was vegetable soup but the same main course as the previous night. On checkout the grumpy receptionist tried to charge us for bottled water at dinner even though this was included in our package. Apart from that, it’s located in a very dusty edge of town, the bedroom had a heated floor that made the room too hot, and there was no blackout curtains to block light from the hall overnight. On the plus side, the bed & bathroom were good, breakfast excellent, and most staff friendly. Overall, there are better hotels in Uyuni (e.g. Tambo where we stayed...
Read moreMUST READ! I did the two day trip and stayed at Kachi. My now wife had a stroke Monday May 19 at 9:30PM while she was in the bathroom. I rushed to the reception and asked for a taxi, a minute later I was downstairs (no elevator) with my wife in my arms. The receptionist locked the main door and without a shadow of a doubt took his own vehicle and took me to the nearest hospital as fast as he could. I was forced to take my wife to Oruro in an ambulance, the receptionist waited 2 hours at the hospital. took me to the hotel to pick up the rest of my belongings and took me back to the hospital. Mind you, the hotel has other guests staying. My wife lost her speech for a while but fully recovered. Time is gold in situations like this, I'm truly sorry I forgot his name but I hope he gets to read this post. From the bottom of my heart.... THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
MUCHAS...
